Configuration of JRC JUE-75 Ship Security Alert System

to route messages via PurpleFinder
Note 1: Before following these instructions, it is essential to ensure that your transceiver
has been registered with PurpleFinder; otherwise the alert messaging will not work. If in
doubt, please contact your PurpleFinder agent or sales contact. If in doubt, please contact
your PurpleFinder agent or sales contact and quote the 9 digit mobile number (IMN) of
the transceiver.

Note 2: The only way to reset security alert reporting from this unit is by unlatching the
alert button. The unit cannot be reset over the air.

Note 3: Setting up SSAS messaging on the JRC JUE-75 is a 2 stage process. The first
stage is to create a freeform text file that will be attached to the message. This can be
used to attach any extra information that may be useful but the content is not important as
the SSAS message contains the data required by PurpleFinder. The second stage is setting
up the transmission parameters that will be used to transmit the SSAS message.

Note 4: The system should be tested on completion of configuration.

Stage 1: How to Create an ASCII message file

2. Select ‘Edit’ from the menu bar and press <Enter> to obtain the ‘Edit’ dialogue box.
