Configuration
Note: When using the JRC terminal you can use the arrow keys to move between menu items.
JUE-75C
This instruction is specifically for the JUE-75C terminal. Instructions for other models follow on
below.
Once the file is created we must go through the configuration of the scheduled transmission again as
follows:
1. Starting from the main screen on the data terminal, press <ESC> to clear the screen.
2. Press <Alt> + <U> to obtain the ‘Set up’ dialogue box.
3. Select ‘Scheduled transmission’ using the up/down arrow keys and press <ENTER>. The
‘Scheduled transmission’ dialogue box should appear.
4. Press <CTRL> and <F10> and check that ‘F1:SSAS TEST’ appears at the bottom left of the
“Scheduled transmission” dialogue box.
5. Five SSAS transmission routes are available (Scheduled transmission #1 to #5).
If any of these have been used, select the next available one. Otherwise, select
‘Scheduledtransmission #1’.
Note: The unit transmits SSAS messages in order “SSAS Schedule #1” to “SSAS Schedule #5”
at intervals of 12 minutes, so the transmission routes should be set in order of priority.
If any of the “SSAS Schedule” has been used, select the next available one. We recommend using
SSAS Schedule #1 to ensure the alert is routed to the bigoceandata system first.
6. When you have selected the next available Scheduled transmission route, use the down arrow
key to select ‘requesting Interval’, and press <ENTER> (‘Starting date and Time’ is not required
for security message transmission).
7. The ‘requesting Interval’ should be set to ‘01:00’.
8. ‘lEs’ is then highlighted; press <ENTER>. There are a number of options for here, we recommend
setting this to either ‘012-112-212-312’ or ‘021-121-221-321’ and press <ENTER>.
Note: In the above screen the LES setting is for Station 12, other settings are available.
9. When ‘Network type’ is selected, a dialogue box will appear. Select ‘Special Access Code’ and
press <ENTER>.
10. Special Access code 28.
11. ‘Character code’ should be set to ‘Data’.
Note: If ‘oN’ is selected, the SSAS message will be sent immediately without the security button
being pressed.
Note: If ‘oFf’ is selected, the SSAS message will NOT be sent when the security button is pressed.
Move to ‘Scheduled transmission’ and press <CTRL>+<F10>, you are now prompted to enter the
terminal 4 digit password, follow this by pressing <Enter>, the Security Alert Transmission menu is
displayed.
Note: The requesting interval cannot be set lower than 1 hour. The unit transmits SSAS messages in
the order #1 to #5 at intervals of 12 minutes so the transmission routes should be set in order of
priority. If a 12 minute repeat interval is required then steps 6 to 17 should be followed for each of
Security Alert transmission #1 to #5.
Move to ‘Security Alert transmission#1’ and press <Enter>, the Security Alert configuration page is
displayed. The detail below is a typical set-up for this SSAS alert.

ssas@bigoceandatasystem.com please check this carefully to ensure that it is entered correctly.
Note: The SSAS alert button is a latch type button and is retained when pressed, in order to unlatch
the button it must be pressed a second time.
Press the button and lift your finger from the button.
Note: The button must be latched for at least 30 seconds before an alert message is sent, you can
cancel the alert by unlatching the button with 30 seconds of the initial press.
After 30 seconds the security alert message will be sent to the email address which has been
configured in ‘Security Alert Transmission#1’.
Once the alert message is sent there will be a short delay before the system distributes the alert
notifications to the pre-arranged recipients.
Reset
Following testing the system and unit must be reset to normal operational state to ensure that any
subsequent alerts are managed correctly.
Note: The only way to reset security alert reporting from this system is by unlatching the alert
button. The unit cannot be reset over the air.
