Sweater with V-stripes

Cast-on
Take time to check gauge to calculate needed sts. For normal neck size, cast on enough sts to
get between 52 and 60 cm, depending on how wide you want the collar to be. Sts should be
divisible by 4, plus 4 sts for middle sts (middle sts are the sts between increase and/or
decrease) The first st is the middle back.
Knit with circular needles in rounds, always increasing by 1 st in every second row before and
after the marked middle st.

Example:
Cast on 164 sts. Mark 1st st; this will be the middle on the back. Count 40 sts and mark the
next one, etc.

Body:
Knit collar to desired width, then continue with selected pattern.

When you reached the desired width of body and sleeves, count ¼ of the body width on the
right and left of the middle back and right and left of the middle front, and mark the new middle
st on the side. Continue knitting at the middle back and knit 2 tog before and after the middle
side st . Knit until next side seam st, marking the st. and knit 2 sts together before and after the
marked st.
increase 1 st at every 2nd row at the marked middle back st and marked middle front st.

Put the rest of the sts (for sleeves) at rest.

In the following rows increase by 1 st every second row before and after the marked middle
back st and the marked middle front st. At marked side sts. knit 2 tog at before and after
marked side sts.

1
Continue knitting until desired length of the middle front and middle back. Now continue to knit
in rows, not circles.

Starting at the middle back towards the side seam (continue to decrease in every other row) knit
until 2 sts before the front middle, turn, knit double sts until 2 sts before the middle back, turn,
knit double sts. Continue this way and continue to decrease in every other row at the marked
side seam; at the middle front and middle back marked sts let 2 sts rest, until only 2 sts are left.

Knit other side in reverse. When you have finished both sides, knit cuff with sts put on rest.

Sleeves:
At side seem bind off the desired sts from front and back together. (Three needle bind off)*
The remaining st is the middle st of the sleeve seam.

Continue with circular knitting

Continue rows, increasing 1 st every other row before and after the marked middle st at the
shoulder/sleeve seam and decrease by 1 st before and after marked side st of the side/sleeve
seam.

Continue until desired sleeve length at the shoulder/sleeve seam has been reached. Continue
with open knitting.

Knit from the side/sleeve seam (continue to decrease in every row) until 2 sts before the
shoulder/sleeve seam (Other side of the seam), TURN, knit double sts; and continue this way,
thereby decreasing 1 st in every row at the side seam (If you like a tighter sleeve work in more
decreases); let 2 sts at the shoulder/sleeve seam rest at right and left of the middle st, until only
2 st are left.

Knit cuff with the resting sts to desired length.

Knit other sleeve in reverse.

TIPPS:
Don’t chose the neck opening to large. The sweater will slide off your shoulders.

To check size of sweater and to find markers for body and sleeves, place sweater on a well
fitting sweater and mark widths.

You can control width of sleeves by increasing or decreasing more stitches.
