The practices or culture that my family have passed on to us and somehow have been changed

and forgotten. The origin of these three (3) practices came from the province of Rizal and
Bulacan.

First, Before 6pm we should open lights or light up our houses because it is somehow not good
or its a bad luck for us. This practices is related to the beliefs and values element of culture.
There is somehow changes in this practice like there are times we do not follow it because we
tend to save electricity and also some of my friends are surprised whenever I open their lights
in their house because of what I learned and practice in our beliefs.

Second, my grandma is a nun in a cathedral in Naga and we came from a religious family since it
was passed on to our generation and one of my grandma taught my parents and so do we is
that every we should do rosary and we should attend mass and pray every first friday, saturday,
and sunday of the month. This practice is related to the religion element of culture. But, there
are changes in this practice because due to lack of time and availability instead of attending the
mass every first friday, sat and sun, we tend to just attend every first sunday of the mass
because its the only time that some of us are free and there are times that we it is changed but
till this day we are still practicing and continuing this tradition. Some may accept it but some
may be too busy or too lazy to attend every first friday, saturday and sunday of the month.

Third, Since we have a big family tree it is our tradition that every 5 years there will and should
be a reunion for all of us. This practice is related to beliefs and values element of culture. But,
due to lack of time and some of our relatives lives in the provinces and some are not that
awared this tradition is forgotten and changed. Instead of every 5 years there are times that
whenever we or them are free then we get the chance to reunited again. Some people may
agree because we do have a lots of responsibilities and important things to do but family is the
only exemption and it is important to cherish and remembered this kind of celebration
