This document describes various weather instruments and the water cycle. It outlines tools used to measure temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind direction, wind speed, and rainfall. It then explains the stages of the water cycle, including evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, and accumulation. Finally, it identifies the main sources of water as seawater, freshwater, and groundwater.

TEMPERATURE. HOW HOT OR COLD IT IS OUTSIDE. HYGROMETER– A TOOL USED TO MEASURE HUMIDITY. HOW MUCH WATER IS IN THE AIR. BAROMETER – A TOOL USED TO MEASURE AIR PRESSURE. THE WEIGHT OF AIR PUSHING ON THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE. WIND VANE – A TOOL USED TO MEASURE THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND. THE ARROW POINTS IN THE DIRECTION FROM WHICH THE WIND IS BLOWING. ANEMOMETER– A TOOL USED TO MEASURE THE WIND SPEED. HOW FAST IS THE WIND BLOWING. RAIN GAUGE - A TOOL USED TO MEASURE THE AMOUNT OF RAINFALL. THE WATER CYCLE – IS THE CONTINUOUS MOVEMENT OF WATER WITHIN THE EARTH AND ATMOSPHERE. EVAPORATION – THE CONVERSION OF WATER FROM A LIQUID TO A GAS. TRANSPIRATION – THE EVAPORATION OF WATER FROM PLANTS. CONDENSATION - THE TRANSFORMATION OF WATER VAPOR BACK INTO LIQUID WATER BY COOLING. PRECIPITATION – RAIN, HAIL, SNOW FALLING FROM THE CLOUDS DUE TO CONDENSATION OF WATER. ACCUMULATION - THE COLLECTION OF PRECIPITATION INTO RIVERS, LAKES, AND OCEANS. SOURCES OF WATER SEAWATER – IT CONTAINS PLENTY OF SALT. IT IS FOUND IN THE SEAS AND OCEANS. FRESHWATER – ALSO CALLED SURFACE WATER. UNLIKE THE SEAWATER, IT DOES NOT CONTAIN SALT. THIS FOUND IN SMALL BODIES OF WATER LIKE RIVERS, LAKES, CREEKS AND PONDS. GROUNDWATER – IS FOUND BENEATH THE EARTH’S SURFACE. IT COMES FROM WATER THAT SEEPS IN THE GROUND. GROUNDWATER IS THE CLEANEST AND SAFEST SOURCE OF WATER.
