ISU:

Thank you so much for the Redbird Academic Scholarship of $3,500 per year that you
have offered. I am more than thrilled to have been accepted to Illinois State and would
love to continue my education as a Redbird! Although, I do have offers from other
Universities, ISU is one of my top choices and I am working hard to narrow things down
to one.
As I am not eligible for need-based grants, the availability of academic and merit aid
will play a critical role in my decision. With myself, along with my parents' help, I am
trying to minimize the debt that I will incur from school. Thus far I have been offered
scholarships from Northern Illinois University for $2,000 per year and Loyola for
$20,000 per year.
While ISU remains one of my top choices, the anticipated debt, rising prices of
everything, and the fact that my financial assistance relies on my family requires that I
give serious consideration to these offers. That being said, I would like to request to be
considered for additional merit aid. The additional funds would greatly help to make my
decision easier. I’m hoping that my ambition and credentials will qualify me for further
consideration.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review my request. I look forward to
hearing back from you soon. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you should
have any questions.
