1. 다음을 듣고, 여자가 하는 말의 목적으로 가장 적절한 것을 고르시오.

W: Hello, Timberglade High School students. This is your P.E. teacher, Ms.
Larsen. I’d like to announce that we’re looking for volunteers to help with
the charity soccer match next month. As you know, our best players will
compete against our graduates at Ebanwood Stadium. Volunteers will show
the audience to their seats and tidy up after the match. All the money from
the ticket sales will get donated to the local children’s hospital. This will be
a great opportunity to get involved in helping children. Please don’t hesitate
to apply for this volunteer work at our charity soccer match. For more
information, you can check the school website. Thank you.

2. 대화를 듣고, 남자의 의견으로 가장 적절한 것을 고르시오.

M: Ellie, you seem down. What’s on your mind?

W: Well, Dad, Tiffany and I got into an argument at school.
M: You two are so close. What happened?
W: During our student council meeting, she was taking too long to make her
point, so I had to jump in to finish her sentence.
M: Oh, no. You shouldn’t interrupt someone when they’re in the middle of
speaking.
W: I know. But she kept talking about so many details.
M: Still, that’s not polite. How would you feel if you were her?
W: I’d probably be upset.
M: Exactly. That’s why when somebody’s talking, you shouldn’t cut them off.
W: You’re right. I guess I didn’t see things from her point of view.
M: So, how about letting others finish what they’re saying next time?
W: Okay. Thanks, Dad. I’ll apologize to her tomorrow.

3. 다음을 듣고, 여자가 하는 말의 요지로 가장 적절한 것을 고르시오.

W: Hello, listeners. This is Dr. Graham’s One-minute Health Tips. Getting a

good night’s sleep is important for your health. But recently, more and more
people are experiencing trouble falling asleep. If that’s your case, wearing
an eye mask for sleeping can help you fall asleep. If your room doesn’t get
dark enough, it’ll be difficult to fall asleep. This is because light interferes
with the release of the hormone that makes you sleepy. An eye mask can
block the light, which makes it easier for you to fall asleep. Why not try one
tonight? I’ll be back with more tips next time!

M: Ms. Blake, I’ve finished decorating the camping gear section to look like a
campsite.
W: Thanks, Chris. It’s much nicer than what’s represented in our sales plan.
I like that banner on the wall.
M: I think it’ll attract our customers’ attention. And I set up the cone-shaped
tent as you suggested before.
W: Good. That Native American-style tent is quite popular these days.
M: Yes, it is. Also, the backpack next to the box is currently our best-selling
item.
W: That’s true. I love its design. Oh, those two chairs look comfortable. I’d like
to sit on one of them and make myself some coffee.
M: Me, too. And isn’t that striped tablecloth really eye-catching?
W: It certainly is. Everything looks really good. You did an excellent job!

M: Yes, I did. The restaurant is spacious, so it’s perfect for a party like ours.
W: Plus, the food there is terrific. And you prepared gifts for the new members,
right?
M: Yeah, they’re in my car. Did you remind the members about the party?
W: I’ve just sent a text message to everyone.
M: Great. What about the tennis competition schedule? Have you printed it
out?
W: Oh, I almost forgot. I’ll do it tonight. Um, is the music ready?
M: Uh-huh. I made a playlist last night.
W: That’s great. I think we’re good to go!

M: Ooh, my friends will love it. How much is it?
W: It’s $30.
M: It seems a bit pricey, but I like it. I’ll take two of them.
W: Okay. Anything else?
M: These Christmas key chains look cute. Oh, they’re $5 each.
W: Yes. They’re only available this month.
M: Are they? I’ll take four then. I think that’s all.

M: Is it too cold? Your jacket does look thin.
W: No, I’m okay. This jacket is warmer than it looks.
M: Then, are your allergy symptoms bothering you again?
W: Not really. I had a runny nose, but I’ve already seen a doctor. It’s okay now.
M: So, why not today?
W: Actually, I need to visit the police station. I got a text message saying that
my new driver’s license is ready.
M: I see. Then I’ll just go back to prepare for the afternoon meeting.
W: Okay. See you at the office.

M: I’m trying to choose one of these foldable carts. You know our cart broke
yesterday.
W: Oh, that’s right. Let me see the ones you’re looking at.
M: Sure. There are these five. They all look good, but let’s not spend more than $50.
W: All right. How about the weight limit? Our last one was 30 kilograms.
M: Hmm, that wasn’t strong enough.
W: Okay. Then, this one won’t be any good.
M: Yeah. Do you have any color preference?
W: The old one was blue. Why don’t we get a different color this time?
M: Good idea. Now, there are two options left. Which handle material do you
like better?
W: Well, metal gets too cold in winter.
M: Good point. Then, let’s get the other model. I’ll order it now.

W: It’s amazing that you successfully switched careers.
M: Thank you. My dream has finally come true.
W: It couldn’t have been easy to realize your dream in your 60s.
M: It wasn’t. But I’ve always believed in myself, and age was never an issue
for me.
W: You make me think of my old passion to be a painter, but I put it off for too
long.
M: Now is the time to give it a try.
W: I think it’s too late for that.

Could you check the store downtown? It’s on my way home.

16번부터 17번까지는 두 번 들려줍니다.

[16~17] 다음을 듣고, 물음에 답하시오.

W: Hello, students. Last week, we learned about upcycling, the process of reusing
old materials to make a new object more valuable than the original pieces.
Today, I’ll focus on how this eco-friendly practice is employed in architecture
around the world. Our first example is a community center in Singapore,
called Enabling Village. Its buildings are famous for being made from old
shipping containers. Second, we have a hotel in Mexico, called Tubohotel.
The capsule-style rooms of this hotel were built using huge upcycled concrete
pipes. Next, Microlibrary Bima is a small local library located in Indonesia.
The building was constructed by arranging 2,000 plastic ice cream buckets.
Finally, there’s the Circular Pavilion in France. It is known for its exterior
design which consists of 180 reused wooden doors. Each of these examples
shows how upcycling is applied in architecture globally to minimize our
environmental footprint. Now, let’s watch a video showing how these
buildings were made.
