TASK 1

- Say if home is important to you. Explain what this word means to you.

Home is important to me mainly because of my family. I feel very comfortable at my home, I enjoy
spending time in space that me and my family created. But home is not only a place, but as I said it is
also my family. Wherever I am with my family, I fell comfortable and I love that I don’t need to act
different infront of them. I can be fully myselfChoose some places which you would show to your
visitors from abroad and explain why they are important to you.
- Talk about the places you would like to visit in the future.

My first place, which I want to visit are Scandinavian countries. When I was little, I was very fascinated by
life beyond the Arctic Circle. I want to see the beauty of countries, get to know people and how they live there.
Second place which I want to visit is in Greece and the place is called Santhorini. It is a very beautiful place that
is built on rocks I am very fascinated by white buildings with blue roofs, beautiful sea and beautiful nature

TASK 2

Your parents are thinking about holiday in a quiet place, but this is not exactly what you want this
summer. Try to persuade them to change their minds and to have holiday in some lively place.

TASK 3

Your parents want you to stay in Stará Ľubovňa and live with them. They are afraid of being alone. But
you have different plans. You want to live in a big city. Discuss these plans and persuade your parents to
let you go and live your own live

TASK 4: Mention most well-known landmarks and places to see in London and Washington

In London can we see:


Big Ben and parliament-
Tower Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Natural History Museum, British Museum,
St’s Paul Cathedral- It’s a beautiful church in London. It was built by the famous English architect, Sir
Christopher Wren. Wellington, Nelson and many other great British figures are buried there
Tower of London- It’s a castle. In the past was a fortress a royal palace and a prison.
Buckingham palace- He lives there king of England- Charles III.
London Eye, Windsor Castle, Nelson’s Column a London’s Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street, Guards in
Buckingham palace, River Thames
In Washington can we see: White House, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Pentagon, National
gallery of Art, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, Ronald Reagan
Airport, Capitol, Georgetown University
