Big Brothers Big Sisters Virtual Summer Conversation Club

5. The virtual Conversation Club program is a group
mentoring program for newcomer children and
youth in Peel. The purpose of the Conversation
Club program is to match caring adult mentors
(settled Canadians) with newcomer youth in the
community who would benefit from having a
positive role model in their life. Children and
youth participate and engage in fun virtual
interactive activities and workshops that
encourage social skills, development of English
language skills, team building skills, leadership
skills and help in the process of integrating into
Canadian society.

Indus Community Newcomer Youth Volunteering


Services Workshop
Eligibility: Newcomer Youth (14 – 24)
Number of Participant spots: 15
Dates: July 6 & July 13, 2 pm to 3 pm
Cost: Free
Youth will learn about the benefits of volunteering,
current volunteer openings, and how to apply to volunteer
positions through Volunteer MBC.

Newcomer Kids Arts & Crafts


Eligibility: Newcomer Kids, ages 6-10, with parental
supervision
Number of Participant Spots: 15
Dates: July 11th - 25th, every Monday from 11am to
12pm
Cost: Free, supplies with be provided.
Dixie Bloor Kid’s Fun Club - Summer Day Camp
Neighborhood Centre 1. Age groups/eligibility: Ages six to 12, residents of
the following postal codes - L4W, L4X,
DBNC L4Y, TWO NEW ADDITIONS, L5A and L5E!
2. Number of participants/spots available: 80
3. Date(s): Monday, July 4th to Friday, August 19th
4. Free or for fee (price): $50 per camp participant
Kid’s Fun Club - Summer Day Camp creates a
space where our staff facilitate the development of
long-lasting friendships through collaborative
play, games, arts, crafts and experiential trips! In
addition, participants get the opportunity to learn
about new cultures from one another.

Due to the popularity and high demand of our camp,


registration is completed through a lottery system. We do
not operate registration for our camp on a first come, first
serve basis. Registration ballots can be dropped in the
ballot box in front of our main office after completion
from Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 until Thursday, June
16th during the following hours:
Monday, Friday and Saturday: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9:30 am to 9:00 pm
Sunday: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Program flyers outlining our weekly theme and


corresponding activities will be given to participant
guardians each week.
