Minor Project Report Format for Diploma and Undergraduate

Guidelines
1. Times New Roman (12 points)
2. Line spacing: 1.5 (both sides)
3. Top and bottom margins: 1 inch/ 2.5 cm; left and right margins: 1.25 inches/ 3 cm
4. Page numbers must be on the bottom of the page and centered
5. Tables and figures must be made according to APA guidelines (Headings must be above
table/figure with table no.)
6. The Title Page must not include page number.
7. Abbreviated Title of your thesis must appear in all the chapters on the Top of the page in
extreme left.
8. Preface and Other supplementary and preliminary pages must include Lowercase Roman
Numerals
9. Start with Arabic Numbering as Page 1, from the first chapter (Introduction and
background)
10. Each page contains footer in chapters onwards. The footer have name of the Department
name, Institute, People's University, Bhopal and page no. Footer font size should be 12.

Example.

Department of Mechanical Engineering ,SORT, People’s University , Bhopal.

11. Headings : levels of heading in according to table
12. Quotes: When possible, paraphrase rather than quoting. Do not use quotation marks to
enclose block quotations (quotes of 40 or more words). Rather, indent and single space
the block quote
13. Equations: must give the number like 1.1, 1.2 and cited them, from where they kept.

14. The following sequence in which the Major Project Report contents should be arranged
as follows:

c. Acknowledgements
d. Preface
e. Contents/ Index
f. List of Tables
g. List of Figures
h. List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature

2 Left-aligned, Boldface, Uppercase and Lowercase Heading
3 Indented, boldface, lowercase heading with a period, begin body text after the
period.

4 Indented, boldface, intalicized, lowercase paragraph heading ending with

a period.
5 Indented, italicized, lowercase paragraph heading ending with a period
