OUTLINE

Theme: The life that God wants for you

Topic: Conversion
Bible verse: Colossians 1:10-14
Purpose: Understand that by receiving the gospel we will walk as God wants.

1.INTRODUCTION:

Paul writes a letter to the Colossians in the city of Colosse, but the church of Colossae was not
founded by Paul, it was founded by Epaphras and Paul was a prisoner in Rome and Epaphras
visited him and told him how the church was and Epaphras took the letter from Pablo. Epafras
brought the letter and at that time the letters were read in the church and Paul told them I feel happy
that they have known the gospel and Paul tells them why has Jesus come into your life?
10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and
increasing in the knowledge of God;
11
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering
with joyfulness;
12
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light:
13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his
dear Son:
14
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

2.MAIN BODY:

A. Verse 10:That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work,
and increasing in the knowledge of God;

- Why am I going to accept it? What good is it for me to accept Jesus Christ? Paul answers you
and says so that you walk as he is worthy of the Lord.
- The verb to walk has an important meaning, to walk is to take a step behind the other, you only
walk forward.
- The gospel comes into your life to improve your family life, professional life, financial life, human
relationships, social life, physical life.
- The Lord likes that you walk with a life full of abundant fruits and each time growing and growing.
- The true gospel is not an invitation to mediocrity to conformism to defeat to failure
the true gospel of freedom to move forward but walking.
- Some do not want to walk some want to jump, you enter a job tomorrow you want to be the
manager.

B. Verse 11:Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and
longsuffering with joyfulness;

- You accept the gospel to receive the power of God to change your character and to become a
patient man and woman.
- The root of all your problems is your character because your home was destroyed by jealousy and
jealousy is a character flaw, you lose your job because you are late and lateness is a character flaw
and because nobody likes you because you are selfish and the Selfishness is a character flaw.
- Most of your problems start with your character.
- A man named John, came to Jesus and his nickname was the son of thunder now imagine for a
man to be nicknamed the son of thunder the guy must not have been a little lamb this John was
miserable, terrible, selfish, ambitious.
- Now Paul comes and tells you don't worry about your character, accept Jesus and when you
accept Jesus, there comes the power power that word power in Greek is the word dynamos from
which our word in Spanish comes dynamite, the gospel is dynamite and for what dynamite to
change your character
- The dynamite is opening the way to build a highway, suddenly you find a huge rock you can no
longer move forward and that rock is your character, here comes the power of the dynamite of the
gospel and why change your character.

C. Verse 13,14: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the
kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of
sins:

- Paul is dividing life into two territories here are the territory of darkness and the kingdom of God.

- In both kingdoms you have problems but here in the kingdom of God you can have problems but
here there is light.

- If there is light you see the exit, it is something you need to understand because some think that
when they arrive here there is no problem, it is that the kingdom of God is still on earth, we have not
yet gone to heaven.

- Let God take you out of here and take you to the kingdom of his beloved son and how he does this
is interesting because of redemption through his blood and the forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ we
have redemption as it is that the father takes us out of there and brought here by the death of Jesus.

3. CONCLUSION

- We need to surrender ourselves to God so that we may walk in new life, so that he may transfer us to the
kingdom of his beloved son.
- So that we grow and that we come out of the posthood of darkness.
- God wants us to understand that the gospel comes into your life to change it so that you bear fruit and
have the power of the gospel in our lives.
