Document Development Exposition: Workplace Correspondence

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
For my original white paper planning, I felt as if I had more freedom in how I constructed the
assignment. I chose a topic that housed much elaboration and an issue with multiple potential
approaches. With writing, the goal was to translate the issue from research (which may be quite vague
for a general audience) into a manner able to have concern and care invested into it. The structure
mostly adhered to the provided white paper template, as this was an introduction to white papers in
my regard.

First Draft (for peer editing)

As I attempted to construct the first draft, I did not focus so much on the writing itself, rather than
gathering a general outline for my final assignment. The priority in this stage was to translate the key
research takeaways into the assignment and have a general layout for the addition of context or other
pieces of information.

Second Draft (for your packet)

Peer review was able to lend some valuable insight into my revisions for the final product. A general
takeaway I received was to structure the formality in a more standard way rather than allowing myself
to resonate between different styles which was understandably confusing to reread.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

My final draft housed much of the proper revising as I was able to thoroughly clean up the format of
the document in regards to image sizing, captions, and the persistent table of contents errors. Also, a
priority was to centralize the overall tone of the document, and revising certain areas where there were
areas of slip in which I fall out of the informative approach. After revising these, the final draft felt
quite concise and polished.
