Professions of Future

What will the professions of the future be like? In 20 years' time, will there be new jobs that don't
exist today?
The answer is 'yes', and here are some ideas.
1. Tele-surgeon
Tele-surgery already exists, but in the future, robots will do the whole operation. The surgeon will
use a computer to tell the robot what to do.
2. Climate controller
If we want a sunny day, we'll have one. If we want snow for Christmas, it's no problem. Climate
controllers will work with scientists to change the weather when we want them to.
3. Space pilot
In the future, space travel will be normal. Space pilots will fly people to other planets for their
holidays!
4. Dream tracker
Dream trackers will help people understand their dreams. They will also control our dreams so we
can have any dream we want.
5. Memory surgeon
Memory surgeons will be able to remove bad memories from your brain. For example, if you have
a car accident, they can take away the memory of the accident.
6. Personal shopper for robots
Robots will go shopping in the supermarket. But first, they need to learn how to do it! Personal
shoppers for robots will teach them.
7. Time broker
Time brokers will buy and sell time. For example, if you want an extra two hours in bed on
Monday morning, you can call a time broker and buy two hours from someone in another country
who isn't using them.
8. Weather engineer
Weather engineers will control the weather. For example, if there's a storm coming, they can stop
it before it arrives.
9. Robot psychologist
When robots become more intelligent, they will need psychologists. Robot psychologists will help
them when they're sad or angry.
10. Hologram designer
Holograms are 3D pictures. In the future, they will be everywhere - in shops, homes, and even on
the street. Hologram designers will create new holograms.
