Speaker 1: In this video, we will talk about interview supports.

First, we'll review what you should do if you're unable to attend a scheduled interview,
what to do if you're feeling overwhelmed with your interview schedule, the process for
interview scheduled outside of Waterloo Works, and concerns during an interview that
may arise.

Here are the steps to remedy any scheduling issues for interviews scheduled through
Waterloo Works. If you are unwell or have an emergency the day of the interview, call
519-888-4026 right away to get immediate assistance. If you're facing a different type of
interview conflict, such as if you need a different interview time, if you have two
interviews scheduled at the same time, if you have a midterm scheduled at the same
time as your interview, or other similar scenarios, you'll follow the interview conflict
process. Check out the link on the slide for common scenarios and to find out which
form you'll need to submit in order to have it resolved.

As a reminder, we ask that students do not contact employers directly if facing an

interview conflict, as this can create unnecessary confusion.

In situations where you may be feeling overwhelmed with interviews, you can either
reach out to the Center for Career Action and ask to speak with a career advisor to
discuss your concerns, or you can fill out a Request for Interview Relief form in Waterloo
Works, and a career advisor will reach out to you. If you choose to complete the form,
be sure to have your phone near you as a career advisor will try to reach out right away
to discuss your situation and offer support.

On occasion, employers will contact you via phone or email to schedule an interview for
jobs you applied to through Waterloo Works. This is okay. Confirm date, time, and
location directly with the employer. Rankings will still show up in Waterloo Works. If you
have an interview conflict in this situation, reach out directly to the employer for
accommodation.

There's also a form for exceptional circumstances wherein a career advisor can
withdraw your application for roles that you apply to in Waterloo Works. You can
submit this form under the following circumstances: if you attend an interview and new
information was provided in the interview that significantly altered the nature or
circumstances of the job from what was outlined in the posting; you have concerns
related to discrimination or harassment arising from the interview.
