The fact of the Titan submarine implosion

Submarines are a modern transportation method that enables humans to explore the
depths of the oceans. They have been widely used in various fields, including warfare, such as
during World War II in 1939. Additionally, submarines have played a crucial role in scientific
research and exploration, reaching notable depths like the wreckage of the Titanic ship, which
lies about 3,800 meters below the surface of the sea. As well, submarines have even been utilized
for tourism and recreational purposes. Despite all these uses and benefits, submarines are
considered one of the most dangerous means of transportation for several reasons, such as
natural hazards, manufacturing problems, technical problems, and other problems that can lead
to catastrophic accidents. This is what happened with the Titan submarine, which imploded
about a month ago on 2023/18/6, leading to the deaths of five businessmen. Opinions and
speculations varied about the cause of the implosion. Some people said it was due to high
pressure, while others claimed that this incident was a conspiracy. The tragic incident that
occurred on the Titan submarine, which was an implosion, was a natural event and not
deliberate.

I will begin by mentioning the natural hazards surrounding submarines. First of all, The
biggest obstacle any submarine can face is high pressure. High pressure can crush even the
strongest submarine just as easily as you can crush a water bottle. This is what happened to the
Titan submarine at a depth of 3,800 meters. At this depth, water pressure is equivalent to 380
times the atmospheric pressure at earth's level. Secondly, destructive storms can occur at sea and
turn anything into wreckage. Their strength can reach up to 20 knots. And just as there are
dangerous waves on the surface of the sea, there are destructive waves in the depths of the ocean
that can reach a height of 300 meters. And do not forget that the ocean is a mysterious world, so
a submarine may be attacked by a creature or collide with something that could cause it to leak
and sink. I believe that only these things that we mentioned above are enough to sink any
submarine.

Second of all, Stockton Rush, the CEO of Ocean Gate, the company that constructed the
Titan submarine, was among the five casualties of the tragedy and was also piloting the
submarine. In my opinion, if this tragic accident had been planned, he would not have chosen to
board the submarine and sacrifice himself. In addition, there have been many warnings regarding
the safety of the Titan submarine. Former Director of Naval Operations for Ocean Get,
Lockeridge, D. (2018), said, "I don't want to be seen as a tattle tale, but I'm so worried he kills
himself and others in the quest to boost his ego." He is referring to the CEO of the company.
Additionally, the submarine was initially slated to launch in 2022 but was unexpectedly delayed
for a year, raising doubts and questions about the safety of both the submarine and its
manufacturer, Ocean Gate.

Finally, the weakness of the control and steering systems in the Titan submarine is one of
its major technical flaws. It’s difficult to fathom the idea of being in a submarine that dives to a
depth of 4,000 meters and is controlled by a video game controller. It seems absurd and
unimaginable, yet that is the reality. The submarine is operated using a console resembling a
PlayStation controller. From my perspective, this issue alone raises serious safety concerns about
the technology. Additionally, the problems with the navigation system and communication
between the submarine and the monitoring team should not be overlooked. In 2018,
communication between the submarine and the monitoring team was lost for 48 minutes. And
this is a big problem for a modern submarine like Titan. Moreover, the choice of materials
greatly influences the durability of submarines. In the case of the Titan submarine, the CEO of
Ocean Gate opted for cheaper materials to cut down on construction costs. They substituted the
robust titanium with pre-made carbon fibers, which are weaker, less expensive, and more prone
to breakage.

In conclusion, as seen above, the Titan submarine imploded naturally and was not
planned for due to various factors. Firstly, the submarine is susceptible to natural risks such as
high pressure and external collisions, which could have led to the implosion. Additionally, there
are concerns regarding the manufacturing company and its production process. The presence of
Stockton Rush, the CEO of the company, on board the submarine indicates that the implosion
was potentially a natural occurrence. which, in my opinion, is a key indication that the implosion
was natural. Moreover, technical problems with the control system, operated by a device
resembling a PlayStation controller, further contribute to the possibility of a Technical glitch.
Furthermore, the quality of manufacturing and the materials used are poor and unreliable.
