STANDING COUNSEL FOR GREATER CHENNAI CORPORATION

Date: 14.09.2023
To
The Commissioner,
Greater Chennai Corporation,
Rippon Building,
Chennai.

Respected sir,

Sub: Final Order dated 14.09.2023 passed in W.P. No.13476 of 2019 and
W.P. Nos. 20274, 21094, 21141, 21167, 22008, 22052, 22347, 22348,
22350, 22351, 23698, 23703, 23906 of 2023 by the Hon’ble Division
Bench of Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras to remove the
hoardings erected by the Petitioners for non-payment of fees fixed by the
Hon’ble Court- Reg:

The above-mentioned Writ Petitions came up along with the Hoardings Batch
before the Hon’ble Division Bench for reporting compliance on the part of
Petitioners for payment of damage fee/rent for the hoardings erected by them in
line with the slew of directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble
High Court. The Hon’ble High Court took note of the fact that the Petitioners
despite granting opportunity for the payment, the Petitioners had not complied
with the Orders of the Hon’ble High Court.

Under the above-mentioned facts and circumstances, the Hon’ble High Court was
pleased to dismiss the above-said Writ Petitions, with a consequential direction
to the Greater Chennai Corporation to remove their hoardings. I am awaiting the
Order copy of the Hon’ble Division Bench in this regard and the facts as
mentioned earlier are subject to the receipt of the Final Order dated 14.09.2023.
This is for your kind information.

Thank you
