SAA welcomes freshmen of 2023!

On September 9, the opening ceremony of freshmen of 2023 of SAA was held. The
leadership, faculty, and staff and all freshmen attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted
by Ning Chenzhang, the representative of PhD student, and Yin Yufei, the representative of Master
student of this year’s freshmen.

Hu Shiqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Vice president of SAA,
warmly expressed his sincere welcome to the new students. He hopes that the students would firm
their aspirations and work hard, and encouraged them to inherit the spirit of innovation of SJTUer,
and cast a new height of life with new brilliance.
 Xu Haoxin, Lei Peixuan, Zha Zhenyu and Chen Xinwei spoke on behalf of 2023 bachelor
students, 2023 master students, 2023 part-time PhD students and 2022 PhD students respectively.
 The ceremony also held the appointment ceremony of the new head teachers, where the

Deputy Party Secretary of the School, Li Wei, and the Director of the Academic Affairs Office,
Zhou Xiang, jointly issued appointment letters to the new head teachers Zhang Bin, Hong
Haichao, Yin Zifei, and Zhu Mingmin. In their new roles, they will accompany new students to
grow up together.
Zhu Mingmin, head teacher of 2023 DMP Class, welcomed the new students as the
representative of head teachers, and encouraged everyone to take learning as the main line of
university life and to lay a solid foundation for their future development.
 The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics presented books to the new classes, and awarded
scholarship certificates to the part-time students of master program who received Freshman Merit
Scholarship.

In order to help students get familiar with the study life in SJTU as soon as possible, the
teachers from Student Affairs Office, Academic Office, International Office of SAA, and the
Information Security Office of SJTU introduced the matters closely related to freshmen
 At the new starting point, this new generation of the SAA students will take the pioneers as
examples, inherit the spirit of Jiao Tong University, and achieve new brilliance. Hope all will
pursue their dreams bravely, keep climbing on the scientific research road, and achieve value on
the life road!
