Message from Director General

“Education imparts not just knowledge but a sense of perception,

patience and most importantly, nurtures an individual's
evolution for the future. The key factor 'Knowledge' is at core of
all developmental efforts in advancing economic and social well
being in an emerging nation like India. The need of the hour is, to
lay a strong foundation and evolve innovative processes that will
prepare the students to be able to excel in the realm of their
chosen field.”

On behalf of the entire SRMGPC family, I am pleased to

introduce yet another issue of “Prerna” for the first quarter
(Jan to March) of this New Year 2013.
We started the first quarter of this year with Republic Day
Celebration followed by our Grand Annual fest,
“Abhivyakti- The Circle of Life”, for which everybody waits
throughout the year & the quarter ended with the
“Celebrations of the colorful festival- Holi”.
As an institution of higher education, SRMGPC is committed
to the discovery and transmission of knowledge. It believes in
the holistic development of students & the same was evident
during Abhivyakti-2K13.There were very proud moments to
see the students managing such a grand event with
commendable responsibility & maturity. I extend my heartiest
congratulations to all the students who made Abhivyakti a
great success. I also congratulate the faculties & staff for their
support to students. All the staff & faculty members were
rewarded for their efficient service they have rendered during
the year 2011 – 2012. I extend my best wishes for continuing
the great work for the new academic year 2012 – 2013 which
will be ending by June.
Apni Paathshala has also taken a grand form in this quarter.
Now Apni Paathshala is being run at four different locations-
three in Lucknow (at SRMCEM & SRMU campuses &
Shaheed Path Gomtinagar ) & one at Barabanki with
approximately 400 students. It gives me great pleasure to see
SRMGPC acting as a beacon of hope and light for all. I invite
you to join us, as a prospective student, parent, or friend to
help the needy.

SRMGPC endeavors to educate a new generation of leaders—

men and women who will be capable of shaping the future
with vision, justice, and charity—with a sense of serving the
humanity.
I assure that this year of Prerna would highlight the
academic, cultural & holistic activities of our college in
subsequent quarters.
Wishing Happy Holi for all its readers , I wish “Prerna” to
become richer in its content every quarter.

Words from the Executive Director
“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them,
but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they
lead.”

Louisa May Alcott

On this occasion of yet another issue of our college newsletter “Prerna – Vol.25 ”
ready for release, I extend my warm wishes to all its readers.

It gives me great pleasure to serve as the Executive Director of SRMGPC and

Chancellor of our newly established University SRMU. In the face of new challenges
and fresh opportunities, let us work for greater accomplishments with our single-minded
determination and unremitting efforts

The world’s great universities’ true mission is to advance the human condition through
improving the quality of life for all. We are already regarded as an institution with an
extraordinary foundation of academic excellence and social impact. In the coming years,
we have enormous potential to capitalize on these strengths and rise to even greater
heights of distinction in all spheres of human endeavor. To realize this aspiration, we are
ready with the necessary infrastructure and an equally transformative vision to guide our
actions and define our future.

I am pleased to see the current issue of “ Prerna” full of events like “Annual fest
Abhivyakti- with a special theme- The circle of life” Republic Day celebration,
Blood Donation & Eye Pledging Camps etc. With these events around in the college
there is a wind of unity and oneness throughout. I appreciate the students who were
preparing for both the fest and their exams at the same time and got through both of them
with the flying colors .I hope that the spirit of the college will remain the same in the
years to come.

Wishing all the readers - Happy Holi and great success in years to come !

Message from the Dean
“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the
smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential,
and fight for your dreams.”
I am happy to see one more eventful quarter (Jan –March 2013) of SRMGPC highlighting various
events like “Annual fest Abhivyakti- with a special theme The circle of life” , Republic Day
Celebration ,Blood Donation together with Eye Pledging Camp , Presentation by students of Apni
Pathshala both on Republic day and in annual fest and a number of Campus Placement activities
held during this quarter (Jan to March-2013) which Prerna is covering in its current release. I would
like to place on record, my deep sense of appreciation for the editorial board members of “Prerna” who
are successfully bringing out this college news magazine without break for last several years.

SRMGPC Lucknow is recognized in the society for outstanding performance of its constituent units.
Since its inception in 1999, the college has been consistently attracting students from all parts of the
State for its academic excellence. Its policies are aimed at overall development of the students,
providing them an environment in which students are motivated to take Individual Social
Responsibility. SRMGPC management is also very sensitive to ensure better safety and fear free
environment for the girl students, staffs and faculties.

Society is changing rapidly in ways which will have a profound impact on the role of academic
institutions and universities. The second decade of 21st century will see, for the first time, a decline in
the number of people of working age. This trend, coupled with the changes that innovation brings, will
have a major effect on the way people work and the kinds of jobs they do. In a world where change is
the norm, however, one thing is certain - knowledge will be a key resource and will be highly sought
after. The challenge therefore lies with all the academic institutions and universities - to help and to
generate the intellectual property which in its turn will create new jobs, educate and train people to
work in fields related to specialized knowledge.

Standing at the gateway of this dynamically changing educational and economic scenario of the 21st
century, we are witnessing how domain specific education is profoundly altering our choice of careers
and the landscape of our workplaces. Our newly set up Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University
( SRMU) is all set to take in its stride all new dimensions modernizing corporate India such as Media
& Communication, Travel &Tourism, Fashion Design, Management & Technology. I am sure our new
university will be the culmination of a long-standing dream to establish a seat of global learning that
reflects the best practices of the leading universities of the nation.

Wishing a Happy Holi to one and all , I wish “Prerna” to become richer in its content every
quarter.
