Cebu Technological University’s VMGO

Let me start my scenario by sharing a story, “There was a teacher who asked his six learners
to demonstrate something in front of the class. He started it by informing the learners to just
follow all his instructions. The teacher told them to imagine that they were walking in a
wonderful forest. In the forest, imagine that you saw beautiful butterflies displaying their
beauty and magic as they land to the flowers to suck some delicious nectar. He then told them,
“Catch at least one and give it to your classmate. All of them furiously run towards the stunning
butterflies. Then as they caught them and gave it to their classmates, they continued their
journey. Meanwhile, they encountered a big wild boar, the teacher then instructed them to kill
it in order to survive. They prepared varied techniques and strategies in catching the boar like
disguise traps with leaves and branches. Aside from the lure, they used bow and arrow aiming
for the best placement. They successfully accomplished the task. The teacher excitedly asks
these questions, “Where are up to now? What are our goals for this activity?”. Then all the
learners were pondering with these questions. They didn’t know the purpose or goal of having
or doing that activity. My main point of sharing the story is that when you don’t set goals, don’t
have vision and mission, you will only be dependent to the flow of the river, you won’t be able
to control its current. The direction is still the same and you have no idea where you’re headed
to.

In contrary to the story, Cebu Technological University aims to provide reliable

representation on how it would operate with such greater purpose to promote meaningful
fieldwork. Moreover, CTU is a multifaceted institution combining several academic disciplines in
order to develop holistic individuals. They tend to mold the totality of a person to foster
progressive leadership. As reflected in the video, CTU provides services aligned to their vision,
mission and goal. They also anchored their VMGO to the diverse demands of the society. The
Industry 4.0 Program came up with a wide range of opportunities in shaping the full potential of
every citizen.

Therefore, upon understanding the Vision, Mission, and Goal of Cebu Technological
University, I can say that I am on the right path. I know that with this institution, I can achieve
my fullest potential, to be competent, globally competitive in this growing world. And be an
agent in molding life-long learners.
