College Annual Day would be the best case study to explain the decentralization

and participative management. It is an indicator of the prodigious event of college


where decentralization and participative management is implemented right from
the management level to the student level.

The Governing council is the guiding force which persuades the persistent
enhancement of the college. The management conducts meeting with the Principal
to review academic excellence of the institution. Every event and programme
which is organised is well planned and presented having taken all the guidance and
suggestion from higher authority. The dates were fixed by the Secretary and
Chairman of Governing Council. The Guests were fixed after having the
discussion with Principal and other committee heads.

The Principal calls for a meeting with all the department heads and
committee heads of the college before organising the programme and determine
the budget. The Principal ensured active participation of all staffs. The Committee
heads were instructed to allot works for all the other members. The members in
turn guided and distributed the responsibilities to the Student Council heads. The
Council heads ensure the participation of all the students.

Annual day is titled as “Pragnya”, which means knowledge. Seshadripuram


Commerce college, Magadi road organised Annual day program, “Pragnya -2017”
on 04.03.2017. Dr Banjagere Jaiprakash, Secretary of “Kannada Pusthaka
Pradikara”, Bangalore was the Chief Guest for the function . Dr. Banjegere
Jayaprakash was superlative in his appreciation of the students and the
management for this systematic programme. During his speech he explicated on
knowledge and maturity, he said that we mature with knowledge not with years.
Sri B.M. Parthasarathy Hon. Treasurer of Seshadripuram Educational Trust,
Smt. Saroja K M Nanjappa, Hon. Asst. Joint Secretary of Seshadripuram
Educational Trust, Sri Anantharam, Trustee, Seshadripuram Educational Trust, Sri
Srinivasulu, Member, Governing Council, Dr. M Prakash, Director of Studies and
Dr Manjunath. R, Principal of Seshadripuram Commerce College were present
during the function.

Dr Manjunath, Principal of Seshadripuram Commerce College read the


Annual Report; this was followed by prize distribution ceremony. The Honorable
Chief Guest gave away prizes to the academically meritorious students. Prize
Distribution ceremony was followed by cultural programmes where students
exhibited their talents. The programme culminated with the national Anthem.

The programme was systematic and well organised. This was evidently an
outcome of the participative management. Principal, Teaching, Non-teaching staff
and all the students had dedicated their time and energy in order to make this
programme successful. Seshadripuram Commerce College believes in the culture
of collaboration. Reckoning this, the Annual Day was a witness for the
collaborative culture and participative management.
