 A Report on International Women’s Day Celebrations – 2017

International Women’s Day, 8th March, is a global day of celebration where

women from all countries and of different political, economic, social, linguistic
and ethnic backgrounds can join together to reflect on the struggle for equality over
the past century, celebrate the achievements to date and identify the challenges for
the future. As CKCETians we celebrated International Women’s Day on
08.03.2017 at the conference hall. The function is attended by the more than 400
girls students of CKCET and all women teaching and non teaching faculty along
with the following dignitaries.

The programme was started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The women
Development Committee Convener Mrs.P.Jegadeeshwari, Assistant Professor,
Department of ECE, delivered the welcome address which was followed by
honoring of the dignitaries.

Honoring the Chief Guest

 Dr.A.Hemalatha HoD/Civil, Mrs.J.Jeyashree, AP / EEE Mrs.R.Reshma,
AP / MBA, Mrs.V.Elakiya, AP / CSE were delivered the felicitation address .All
the speakers lauded the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of
women in the last three decades and felt that the day is also a reminder of their
responsibility to achieve gender equality.

The Principal of CKCET Dr.Arun V.

Parwate, delivered the presidential address. In
his speech the importance of Women’s in this
World were highlighted.

Ms.G..Abilasha Assistant Professor Dept. Of Mathematics gave introduction about
the chief guest.

Chief Guest Mrs.Jeyanthii Ravichandran was captivated by her

inspirational speech all the way and said that all women must develop confidence
and self-discipline in order to get success in their professional and personal life.
She said that before fighting for the rights every person has to know about the
responsibilities toward the society. Also added that women must develop their
special skills to get success in their personal and professional life rather than
comparing with men. She said that multitasking is special talent to a women they
must use it for their career development.

After the chief guest’s address, gifts were distributed to all the women faculty
members both teaching as well as non teaching.

To encourage the girl’s students in their academic

achievements prizes were distributed to all departments girls
for their best performance in their University Examinations. .

Performance Based Prize Distribution to Students

A small game was conducted for the faculty members and the
lucky winners were rewarded. There are three faculty
members were chosen and gift were distributed for them.

After which the cultural programme by the girl students

of all departments was started. Around 15 programme were
performed which includes dancing, singing, poetry, miming,
etc. All the students were participated in an enthusiastic
manner.

 Women’s Day celebration ended around 5.30 p.m. with
National Anthem followed by distribution of snacks to girl
students and women faculty members.
