REPORT ON A TWO- DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ATTENDED

Title: National Education Policy-2019: The Context and Challenges

First of all, I would like to thank Director, Dr. J. S. Chauhan, Samrat Ashok Technological
Institute for allowing me to participate in A Two- day National Seminar on National Education
Policy-2019: The Context and Challenges at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The Seminar
was very interesting and gave me the opportunity to learn many issues regarding National
Education Policies-2019, Curriculum, Syllabus Design and Teaching Methods. The seminar is
intended to:

 To provide insights and understanding, regarding the key concepts of National


Education Policy-2019
 To discuss the phenomenon of varieties of teaching methods.
 To discuss practical steps in Curriculum and Syllabus Design.

The seminar was well attended by university Faculty, Teachers and administrators from different
colleges and university students in the master’s and doctoral programs; around 90 participants
were present. The seminar started at 10 a.m. by lighting the lamp, singing a prayer song and an
opening speech by Vice-chancellor of Andhra University Prof. Prasad Reddy. The seminar was
led by Prof. Nina Venkata Rao, Seminar Director and Dean, Faculty of Education.

The first presentation was presented by Prof. Siva Prasadh and Mrs. P. Sumitha on Educational
APPS- A Boon or Bane and I presented my paper second day of the Seminar on Collaborative
Learning and Teaching with my companion Dr. Prasanna, Asst. Prof., Department of Education,
Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

Participants were actively involved in the discussions, mostly on issues related to the latest
trends in Effective Teaching. The programme aimed at encouraging and motivating the educators
to bring innovation in teaching-learning process. It also aimed at developing their leadership
skills to guide students and enable them to find a solution to problems, to bring about positive
changes for a sustainable future. Every aspect of classroom teaching was touched upon with an
effective group task given by the trainer followed by a fruitful discussion.

The seminar ended at 5.30 on 30th September 2019.
