Definition(Kaila Zaida)
-News item text is a type of writing that provides up-to-date information about
events that are important to report. Quoting from the British Course, in English,
news item text is a text which informs readers about events of the day. The events
are considered newsworthy or important

Purpose(Amelia Widya Wibowo)

-Provides an objective and factual picture of what is happening in the world.
-To present information the readers about newsworthy or important events of the
day
-the events that are reported are usually events or recent events.

1.Main Event / Newsworthy Event
-The first part is known as a newsworthy event. This section is the part that tells or
contains news about the main event or event which is usually written in summary
form.
2. Elaboration / Background Event
-Background event/ Elaboration tells in detail about the background of the
incident. The details that you must include in this section are the perpetrator,
location, time of the incident, other parties involved, and the background to the
incident.
3. Resource of Information (Source)
-Lastly is the source. The source referred to here can be a statement, comment, or
opinion from parties related to the event as evidence or concrete data (which can
be proven)

1.Saying Verbs
-Saying verbs are verbs that are usually used in conversation. This word is usually
used in the source section of a news item.
2.Action Verbs
-Action verbs are verbs that refer to an activity. This word can be called a dynamic
verb. Some examples of action verbs are walk, write, fight, go, work, and so on.
3.Adverbs
-Adverbs are adverbs in a sentence. In news items there are three adverbs used,
namely time, place and manner.
