Concrete
Concrete
A core drill, also known as a diamond drill or diamond core drill, is a specialized tool used to
create holes in various materials, such as concrete, stone, metal, or glass. It is commonly used in
construction, engineering, and geological exploration. Unlike regular drills that typically use a rotating
drill bit to remove material, a core drill uses a diamond-tipped cutting edge to grind and remove a
cylindrical core from the material. This method allows for precise and clean holes with a larger diameter.
Rebound Hammer
A rebound hammer, also known as a Schmidt hammer or concrete test hammer, is a handheld
instrument used to assess the compressive strength or hardness of concrete and other masonry
materials. It provides a non-destructive method of estimating the strength of concrete in situ. The
rebound hammer operates on the principle of measuring the rebound of a spring-loaded mass impacting
the concrete surface. When the hammer is pressed against the surface, a spring is compressed, and
upon release, it strikes the concrete, causing the hammer to rebound. The rebound distance is then
measured using a scale or digital display on the instrument.
Circumferential extensometers
The concrete slump test is a widely used test to assess the consistency and workability of fresh
concrete. It measures the deformation or "slump" of a concrete sample when subjected to a specific
amount of compaction.
