CSTP 5 Assessing -Students for Learning
- I had students rate their ability to juggle after the lesson was over and observed the
results.
CSTP 6 Developing as a Professional Educator
- Created a Lesson plan by myself.

Lesson Plan Content (Written narrative paragraph about the lesson content.)

Students will be engaging in a lesson about juggling. Students will have a briefing on how
they will learn, and they will see demonstrations on how to practice. Students will then apply
their knowledge and attempt to juggle on their own using tennis balls. At the end of the class
the students will rate their progress with a thumbs up, side, or down. At the end of the lesson
the goal is for students to learn how to properly juggle.

Instructional Procedures

• Focusing Event (Describe how you will get students to focus attention on your teaching.)

A whistle alert gets the students attention.

• Instructional Strategies (Click into that link for help describing all instructional methods you will
employ during the lesson. Remember, instructional strategies fall into one or more of the following
broad categories: DIRECT, INDIRECT, EXPERIENTIAL, INTERACTIVE, INDEPENDENT
STUDY)

- Direct instruction when students are getting instruction and watching

demonstrations on juggling

- Independent study and experimental learning when students are practicing

juggling technique
- Interactive learning when students can partner up and help each other practice.

• Student Participation (How will you engage students and get them on board to participate?)

- Middle school students are almost always on board to learn new sports and
skills and are graded every day on participation.

• Formative Check (How will you check that all students are involved and engaged in the lesson?
- I will be interacting with the students and checking in on their progress and
answering any questions they may have.

• Closure (How will you end the lesson purposefully, with intentionality?)

- I will end the lesson by having the students rate their progress and return the
tennis balls to the buckets.

• Assessment (How will you assess that students achieved the lesson goals or learning targets?)

- I will check in on the students and make report of what they rated themselves
after the class period is over.
