Q2 Lesson Plan Project

Lesson Goals or Learning Targets (Word these as measurable student outcomes.)

The lesson goal for this project is to get my kids to learn a new acrobatic skill.

Lesson Objectives or Success Criteria (Word these as student actions, use verbs.)

Objectives for my lesson plan is to teach the students to juggle tennis balls more than 5
consecutive times.

CSTP Rationale (Describe the ways your lesson aligns with the six California Standards for the
Teaching Profession)

CSTP 1 Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning

I taught all students together with their full attention then went to 1 on 1 when they were
struggling.

CSTP 2 Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning

I grabbed 5 of my students and had them all get into a circle secluded from the rest of the
class.

CSTP 3 Understanding and Organizing Subject Matter for Student Learning

I thoroughly explained my directions and made sure I was able to juggle and teach it before
presenting it to them.

CSTP 4 Planning Instruction and Designing Learning Experiences for All Students
I talked to my mentor teacher about what we can do, and we brainstormed together and came
up with what I taught
CSTP 5 Assessing Students for Learning
They had to Juggle 5 times consecutively without dropping any of the balls.

CSTP 6 Developing as a Professional Educator

Me and my mentor teacher talk about the pros and cons about teaching, and we work
together to make ourselves the best version of ourselves.

Lesson Plan Content (Written narrative paragraph about the lesson content.)

I will grab their attention by using a strong commanding voice than pulling 5 kids out of my
class and showing and telling them how to juggle. Secondly, I give them their own 3 tennis
balls, they try themselves and I go around giving them tips on how to succeed. When they
succeed, they will be excused back to the rest of the class.

Instructional Procedures

 Focusing Event (Describe how you will get students to focus attention on your teaching.)

I will seclude them from the rest of the class, give them clear instructions along with an
interactive example and then send them on their way.

 Instructional Strategies (Click into that link for help describing all instructional methods you will
employ during the lesson. Remember, instructional strategies fall into one or more of the
following broad categories: DIRECT, INDIRECT, EXPERIENTIAL, INTERACTIVE,
INDEPENDENT STUDY)

Direct instruction, Interactive, Experiential, Independent.

 Student Participation (How will you engage students and get them on board to participate?)

I will give them all their own balls for them to hold onto after I am done giving
instructions. Also, will have them entertained by my amazing juggling skills.

 Formative Check (How will you check that all students are involved and engaged in the lesson?
I will walk around them asking to show me how they are doing.

 Closure (How will you end the lesson purposefully, with intentionality?)

I will tell them about how juggling can impress their crush and all the other things you
can use juggling for.

 Assessment (How will you assess that students achieved the lesson goals or learning targets?)

I will congratulate them than send them back to class.

Lesson Plan Materials (Include everything needed to successfully complete the lesson with
the full class. Remember to include all supplies, as well as technology, whiteboard space,
classroom space, etc.)
A small portion of the gym, 15 tennis balls, time and a healthy functioning body.
