Act 3. 1.1
1.2

1.3
Act 3, What I have learned

1. The graph if a logarithmic function has a vertical asymptote at x=0

2. The graph of the logarithmic function f(x)=logb(x) is increasing if b > 0 and decreasing if 0<b<1
3. The graph of the function f(x)=logb (x+c) shifted the parent function f(x)=logb(x) to the left if c > 0
and to the right if c < 0.
4. The graph of the function f(x)=logb(x) + d shifted the parent function f(x)-logb(x) upward if d > 0 and
downward if d < 0.
5. The graph of the function f(x)=a logbx stretches the parent function f(x)=logbx if a > 1 and
compresses if 0 < a < 1

Act 4, Assessment
1. C. The answer is according to the Vertical shifts given at the module
2. C. if the we’re finding the graph of f(x)=log (x); the graph must past the coordinates (1,0) since the
log10 is equal to 1
3. A. It compresses since there is restrictions both sides vertically; it’s also according to vertical
stretches and compressions
4. B. Since the x-coordinates must be smaller than the original parent function’s domain, c must be
greater than to 0
5. D. Since c > 0, the graph must be shifted left from the parent function.
6. C.

7. C. That is according to the properties of logarithmic functions and equations

8. B. In order to be shifted down to the y-axis, the y-coordinates must be multiplied to numbers less
than 0.
9. A. To be shifted left, to be shifted left, the x-coordinates must be added to numbers greater than 0.
10. A. Since the function has more restrictions, the graph will shrink or compress
11. D. It is according to the properties of the logarithmic functions and equations
12. C. since a > 1, the graph must be stretched compared to the original parent function
13. B. Shifts will always be depended to the value of c
14. C.
15. A. According to definition, the logarithmic functions answers the
question “To what power must b be raised to obtained the number x,”
which in analogy is exponential function in form.
Act 5. Additional Activity

Act.6 Reflection
In this lesson, I’ve learned the different ways and techniques in graphing and determining values of
the Logarithmic Function. I’ve also reflected that you can study things, it will just take a lot of your time.

Act. 9 .1.1

1.3

Act. 9, What I Have Learned

1. The domain of a function is the set of possible values of the independent variable
x. These values are often known as inputs.
2. The range of a function is the set of all possible values of the dependent variable
y. These values are often known as outputs.
3. The logarithmic function f(x)=x is the inverse of the exponential function
f(x)=bx
4. The domain of the function f(x)=x is the set of all positive real numbers while its
range is the set of all real numbers.

Act 10. Assessment

1. C. It is defined that range is the set of all y values, commonly known as the outputs or dependent
variables.
2. A. The base of an exponential function must and always be positive.
3. A

4. A. Defined as the set of all x-values, known as inputs and the independent variable.
5. D. Logarithmic functions are the inverses of exponential functions and vice versa
6. A. It is defined at the module

7. C.
8. B. Since we can only determine the value of y through the use of the independent variables of x,
we can define that the variable y is a dependent variable.
9. C.

10. A. Since the function given is the inverse of exponential functions, whose domain is the set of all
real numbers; the range of the logarithmic function will always be the set of all real numbers.
11. B. The logarithmic function answers the question what number must be the power of b (base) to
obtain the value number y, which in analogy is an exponential function.
12. D.

13. The correct format must be log16 1/8 = ¼

14. C. Only y=4x has a variable exponent, which is a requirement for exponential functions
15.

Act 11.

Act 12. Reflection

Through practice and repetitive doing, you can achieve your goals. There will be always more easy
ways to sort things, like what I’ve learned in determining the Domain and Range of a Log Function.
PM SESSION
Act. 3

1.2
1. Asymptote
2. Range
3. Logarithmic
4. Intercept
5. Exponential

1.3
Act. 3, What’s More
1. The logarithmic function f(x)=x is the inverse of f(x)=bx
2. An intercept is where the functions cross the x or y-axis and zero is where the curve cross the x-
axis
3. An asymptote is a line that a curve approaches as it approaches infinity.
4. The vertical asymptote of the function is the x-value that makes the function equal to zero
5. A logarithmic function is not defined on negative numbers and zero

Act. 4 Assessments
1. B. That is according to definition, intercept means points where the graph or line intersects with the
two axes.
2. A.
3. C
4. B and C, since the vertical asymptote is the argument equals to 0, and to find the x-intercept, you
have to set y=0, both VA and x-intercept will be 0.
5. B
6. B. Since line is endless, it will approach infinity, always
7. B.
8. A
9. B
10. A. Since it will be the closest a function gets with its inverse, the height of the function must be at
its maximum, same to its inverse
11. A. Define in the definition, the Logarithmic function answers the question to what power must a
number be raised to obtain the number x.
12. C. Simply equate the function to 0 to obtain the x-intercept.
13. A
14. D
15. D
Act 5. Additional Activities

Act 6. Reflection
I’ve learned to persevere and be patient in solving the intercepts and asymptotes of Log of
functions. Also, the concept of ambiguous arguments hit me, since we really need to define a thing for it to
be more recognizable. Choosing also the appropriate variable and following the steps carefully will make
life easier, specially in Math.
Act 9:

1.1

What’s More
1. Logarithm equation is an equation containing the logarithm of a variable in an expression.
2. Logarithmic inequality is an inequality which one or both sides involves a logarithm.
3. Logarithmic function is a function answers the question to what power must the base be
raised to attain the number x.
4. Logarithmic function is the inverse of exponential function.

Act 11. Reflection

This section is probably the hardest I’ve ever

encountered for the past months in Math. I’ve learned a
lot, especially in maximizing time.

At first, I really don’t know what’s the purpose of this

Reflection Activity. Now I know it is for additional points,
since we can’t answer all of them individually.

I’ve learned to always push yourself to your limits, and

do your best.

Correlating with the topic, we need to master the

inverses of each particular function, especially Logarithm and exponential. Just like life, we need to always
be prepared in the “inverses” we may encounter. We will never be the best version if we’ll always be the
regular “function.”

I have fun answering this module and part of General Mathematics. Although I’m pretty sure I didn’t achieve
my hypothetical success, I know I did the best I could and answer. I never thought I would say that Math is
freaking hard.

Thank you, Sir.
