Our client is a global defence, aerospace and security company with over 80.000 employees
worldwide. The Company delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and
naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions
and support services.

We are now looking for a qualified and experienced Mathematics/Physics Instructor to


work on an initial 5 weeks contract, with possibility of extension/renewal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Mathematics and
Physics content of Technical Specialties training in aviation to meet training requirements
courses and to provide effective and efficient assessment analysis, development of
assessment procedures and practices covering the maths/physics course to meet the
customer’s needs and requirements.

Key roles and Responsibilities

 To teach mathematics, physics and basic mechanical or electrical subjects in


aviation.
 To deliver the practical components of the course by means of demonstration and
direction of students in practical exercises and utilize such training aids as available
to maximise efficiency of training.
 Produce training support materials – including curriculum, training objectives,
syllabuses, course plans, and assessment and evaluation methods - to satisfy
customers’ training requirements
 Conduct cadet assessment and evaluation exercises and implement remedial action
as required.
 Plan, control and deliver assigned courses, and ensuring requirements are
delivered to plan.
 To counsel students with regard to their academic performance or behaviour as
required.
 To maintain classroom procedures as published.
 Well-motivated, adaptable and flexible to operate in a highly complex technical
environment, where the integration of a wide range of skills is necessary to ensure
the prime objectives are met, with the minimum of supervision
 Ensure the general welfare of students in assigned areas during training activities
and monitor their performance so that each individual achieves maximum progress
towards the training objectives
 Detailed knowledge in the operation and use of IT systems to support relevant
systems.
 Well-developed planning and organising skills to meet the precise timings required
by training programmes and programme plans.
 Understand how the business performs, its operating procedures and deliverables,
in order to achieve objectives associated with the role
 Two-way communication through sharing of information as appropriate and
listening to other parties views and expectations
 Support, co-operate with, and work with others in order to achieve common goals
and objectives
 Adopt a pro-active and flexible approach to duties of the role and the needs of the
wider business
 Undertake all mandatory and developmental training as deemed appropriate by the
business
 Subscribe to and actively participate in the PDR process

The Candidate must have the following:

 Hold an instructor / teacher qualification from a recognized institute


 Minimum Aviation Degree in a scientific discipline such as PGCE or BSc with a
Mathematics/Physics bias.
 Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Aviation / Education field.
 English Language skills with IELTS 6.0 (Academic) or higher achieved within the last
2 years for non-native speakers.
 Good interpersonal skills to be able to teach maths/physics skills and aviation
knowledge across the range of cultures, status, intellect and academic ability.
 Good interpersonal skills with the Microsoft Office.
 Have completed an apprenticeship GACA/ C&G / EASA 147 License Holder or
equivalent.
 Preferably, have an understanding of large companies’ practices and procedures.
 Have ability to multitask, verbal communication, and written communication skills

applicants with a valid passport from the UK or Ireland, or other nationalities who have
permanent residency and the right to work in the UK. Successful candidates will all need to
go through a mandatory security vetting process, including verification of all claimed
qualifications, criminal record and reference checks, and medical.
