2.1.1. READ THE WORKSTATION’S “TECHNICAL REFERENCE GUIDE”
Read the workstations “Technical Reference Guide” manual to learn the detailed instructions on how to
handle the workstations hardware, such as opening the covers, adding disks and adapters, etc.
To avoid system damage from static discharge, use the Disposable Grounding Wrist Strap. In case
one is not available, touch bare (unpainted) metal on the system before you touch anything inside the
system.
1. Make sure that the system is turned off and the power cord is unplugged.
2. Remove the Access Panel of the workstation.

SCSI connector
4 2
HP-C1113M: Has a 20-pin mini-connector, which is located on the left (from the rear) of the SCSI
connector. Jumpers should be in locations 2 and 4 from the right (SCSI ID1 and SCSI Parity signals).
The SCSI ID of the drive will then be set to 2. (Note: there are no terminators in C1113M). The DIP
switches (2 x 8), on top of the C1113M drive should all be set to OFF (default factory setting).
In case you must use VGA-cables, the “DMS-59 to dual VGA cable” can be found in the workstation’s
accessories.
