 PURPOSE
The Philippine Development Plan (PDP) holds immense importance as it serves as a
guiding light for the country’s progress. It outlines a comprehensive strategy to
address the challenges faced by the nation and aims to ensure sustainable and
inclusive growth for all Filipinos. By setting clear objectives and strategies, the PDP
aims to create a better future for the country.

VISION
The vision of the Philippine Development Plan is to create a nation where every
Filipino can thrive and live a dignified life. It envisions a society that is prosperous,
equitable, and environmentally sustainable, with no one left behind. The vision
statement reflects the desired future state of the country and sets the overarching
goal for development.

MISSION
The mission of the Philippine Development Plan is to promote inclusive economic
growth, social progress, and environmental sustainability. It aims to achieve this
mission by implementing effective policies, programs, and partnerships. The mission
statement highlights the purpose and approach of the plan, emphasizing the
importance of creating an enabling environment for holistic development.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Claire Camille M. Delos Reyes is an 18-year-old, first-year college student taking up

a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management at Mindoro State University. She
graduated from Felimon M. Salcedo Senior Memorial National High School. She was
born on May 02, 2005, and she currently live in Malamig, Salcedo, Bansud, Oriental
Mindoro. During her younger years, Claire used to work part-time jobs on days when
she didn’t have school. She took on these jobs to gain practical experience, earn
extra money, and develop valuable skills. Some of the part-time jobs she had
included working as a service crew at a local restaurant and as a saleslady in a
bakery.

Claire has a variety of hobbies that bring her joy and fulfillment. She enjoys drawing,
sketching, and cooking. In her leisure time, she also likes watching K-dramas and
anime, as well as playing online games. These hobbies allow her to express her
creativity, relax, and engage in enjoyable activities.

Claire’s strength and motivation come from her family and her faith in God. They
inspire her to work hard and study diligently. She firmly believes in her ability to
overcome challenges and obstacles that come her way. With the support of her
loved ones and her unwavering determination, Claire is confident in her capacity to
succeed in any endeavor she pursues.

INTRODUCTION
The Philippine economy has shown resilience and potential for growth in recent
years. However, it still faces challenges such as income inequality, poverty,
unemployment, and environmental degradation. Despite these challenges, the
country possesses immense opportunities for development. The introduction section
of the plan will provide a detailed analysis of the current status of the Philippine
economy, highlighting its strengths, weaknesses, and key challenges. It will delve
into factors such as GDP growth, employment rates, poverty levels, income
inequality, and environmental sustainability, providing a comprehensive
understanding of the economic landscape.

AGENDA
The agenda section of the plan outlines the key priorities and strategies for the
development of the Philippines. It encompasses a wide range of sectors and
initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive growth. Here are some
highlights of the agenda:

a. Economic Development:

The plan focuses on promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth by

investing in key industries, infrastructure development, and job creation. It aims to
enhance competitiveness and innovation to attract local and foreign investments.
Additionally, the plan emphasizes the strengthening of micro, small, and medium
enterprises (MSMEs) to drive economic growth and create employment
opportunities.
 b. Social Development:

Ensuring access to quality education, healthcare, and social services for all Filipinos
is a key priority. The plan aims to reduce poverty and income inequality through
targeted social protection programs and skills development initiatives. It also
emphasizes empowering marginalized sectors, including women, youth, and
indigenous communities, to participate fully in the development process.

c. Environmental Sustainability:

Recognizing the importance of environmental sustainability, the plan focuses on

mitigating the impacts of climate change and promoting sustainable resource
management. It emphasizes investing in renewable energy sources and promoting
energy efficiency. The plan also highlights the need to protect and rehabilitate
ecosystems, including forests, coastal areas, and marine resources.

d. Infrastructure Development:

Enhancing connectivity is a crucial aspect of the plan. It emphasizes the

development of transport systems, including roads, railways, airports, and seaports,
to improve accessibility and facilitate economic growth. The plan also prioritizes
improving access to clean water and sanitation facilities. Additionally, it emphasizes
the development of sustainable and resilient urban areas that prioritize livability and
environmental sustainability.

e. Governance and Institutional Reforms:
