FLUCTUATING IDLE SPEED; THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES; JERKY MOVEMENT FROM THE ENGINE

Symptom
Fluctuating idle speed
Jerky movement from the engine
The engine warning light illuminates

The following fault code is present:

P0300 - Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected

Cause
Corrosion on the contact surface between the following components:
Spark plugs
Spark plugs 25 (Nm)
Ignition coils
Ignition coil 8 (Nm)

Solutions
Connect the diagnostic tool
Delete all the fault codes
Carry out a test drive
Check the engine misfire counter
Check the upstream oxygen sensor parameters
Expected values: -25 - +25 %
Check the voltage
Expected values: 0.1 - 0.9V

Follow the procedure below if the following conditions are observed:

Engine misfire
The exhaust gas analysis shows a rich mixture

Procedure:
Check the ignition system
Check the injectors
Check the cylinder compression pressures
Check the spark plugs for corrosion

If corrosion is observed, proceed as follows:

Renew the ignition coil
Renew the spark plugs
Note: Use improved parts
Apply special grease to the electrical terminals
