Activity 1 Assessment. “How do we say…?”

This rubric is assessing the first activity of 3 from the microteaching task. The activity is
split in two parts: the first part will consist of playing a “Food Game”. The teacher will
distribute several cards with pictures of foods and other cards with the names of those
ingredients, such as a picture of an egg and a card with the word “egg” written on it.
Students will have to play the memory game by placing one card with images and
another with words facing up.
In the second part of the lesson, the teacher will tell them a recipe and they will have to
find the ingredients they will need to use to create that recipe. They will be allowed to
use online dictionaries to help them.

With the following rubric, students will have the chance to assess themselves and
realize how the process of their own learning is going. So, for each criterion, they will
have to mark with a cross the level they are at or the level they think they have. The
same rubric can be used by the teacher to assess his or her students. He or she will
just need to change the subject to “her or she”.
