APIL, KAYSIAH JANE G.

One of nature's greatest wonders and one of God's greatest gifts to humanity and other
dependent species is trees. The two most important items for human survival are food and
oxygen, but trees also provide us with other necessities like shelter, medicine, and other
environmental benefits. Nonetheless, as more advantages of trees become known, the need for
them has increased to meet the needs of the contemporary lifestyle. Regretfully, people still cut
down trees without thinking about the long-term effects.

To protect Mother Earth and lessen these environmental problems' effects. As our last
assignment for Mathematics Science and Technology, our instructor, Miss Nyra Diaz, urges us to
plant trees in our homes. Each student must plant, at least, 5 seedlings in this exercise. We also
have four months to keep an eye on our planted trees, which requires us to measure their
length every month and snap a selfie or photo of them.

I've decided to plant a tree on August 30, 2023. I searched for tree seedlings and a place to lay
my trees. I then started planting after getting ready the tools and supplies I would require. I
started monitoring my plants on September 25, 2023, taking pictures of them on October 30,
2023, and lastly Dec. 5, 2023. I realized that growing a healthy and strong tree requires a lot of
patience, care, and effort. From selecting the right type of tree to planting it in the right
location, to providing it with the proper amount of water, sunlight, and nutrients, every step is
crucial in ensuring its growth and survival. As I started planting my tree, I learned that the soil
should be well-drained and rich in nutrients for the tree to thrive. I also had to make sure that
the tree was planted at the right depth and with enough space for its roots to spread. Once the
tree was in place, I needed to water it regularly and provide it with wood ash fertilizer to
promote healthy growth.

As days passed by, I observed how my tree was slowly growing and developing new leaves. I
also noticed that it required constant care and attention, such as pruning the branches,
removing weeds, and protecting them from pests and animals. Through this experience, I
gained a newfound appreciation for trees and their importance in our environment. I also
learned that every small action, such as planting a tree, can have a significant impact on the
world around us.

Overall, growing a tree has been a valuable learning opportunity for me, and I look forward to
continuing to care for it and watching it grow over the years.
