Attachment 1 - Shift and Overtime Payments (D grade – LR)

Applicable to New Hires post Jan 1, 2011

Definitions

i Dayshift - Dayshift hours will normally be spread over 5 shifts, Monday - Friday,
falling between 6am and 6pm.

ii Nightshift - Nightshift hours will normally be spread over 4, 4½ or 5 shifts. Monday -


Thursday/Friday falling between 7pm and 7am.

iii Twilight Shift - Hours worked between the plants normal full shift finishing time and
the normal night shift start time, e.g., if normal Monday to Thursday dayshift is
7.30am - 4.00pm and the nightshift is 8.30pm - 6.30am then the twilight shift Monday
to Friday will be hours falling between 4.00pm and 8.30pm.

iv Double Days A two shift rotating pattern with hours normally falling:

Mornings 6am - 2pm


Afternoons 2pm - 10pm
Covering 5 days per week - Monday to Friday.

v 4/5 Shift Pattern Plant operates five 9 1/4 hour shifts per week with associates
working four 9 1/4 hour shifts per week taking one rest day per week staggered to
ensure full 5 day cover.

vi 5 Day 3 Shift A three shift rotating pattern with hours normally falling:

Mornings (M-Fri) 6am – 1.30pm


Afternoons (M-Fri) 1.30pm – 9.00pm
Nights (M-Th) 9pm – 6.00am

covering 5 days per week normally Monday - Friday.


Exceptionally start/light up shifts may run Sunday night to Friday afternoon.

vii 7 Day 5 Shift - A seven day rotating shift pattern normally made up of 5 day 3 shift
cover during the week and long shifts at the week-end. The application of this
pattern will be subject to local agreement.

Viii 7 Day 4 Shift – A seven day rotating shift pattern normally made up of 5 day 3 shift
cover during the week and long day shifts at the weekend. The application of this
pattern will be subject to local agreement.

Shift Premia

The precise start and finish of shift patterns will be determined locally. The premia
payable will be determined by applying the appropriate premia from the table below
for the hours of the shift pattern worked.

Premia payment is dependent on rotation i.e. the employee must work the full cycle of the shift pattern.With effect from 1
November 2016 you will be paid the prevailing 3 shift premium rate if and when you are required to work on a rotating 3 shift
pattern.

OVERTIME

Definition
Overtime hours are defined as any hours worked by an associate at the
Company’s request and in excess of the Standard Shift Hours.

Level of Payment
The minimum qualifying period is one completed hour and all payments are in multiples of completed
hours.

Weekdays £20 for the first hour on a weekday


£25 for the second hour on a weekday
£30 for each subsequent hour on a weekday

Weekend £35 for each hour worked on a weekend

Contractual and Catchback Overtime
You will be required to work any contractual and catchback overtime practices operating in the location
in which you are based.

Payment for Working On a Statutory Holiday


Every associate shall, in respect of the 8 days of recognised statutory holiday receive payment for
each day as described below.

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Treble time


Day (Midnight to Midnight)

Remaining statutory holidays Double time


Substitute statutory holidays where statutory Weekend overtime premia rate
holiday falls at a weekend

Payment will be for 4 hours or attended hours, whichever is the greater.

Where an associate works through midnight of one holiday into another holiday all hours
worked after midnight will be paid at double time.

Attendance on a statutory holiday or substitute statutory holiday earns entitlement to equivalent


time off in lieu for which normal holiday pay will apply unless previously paid, subject to a
maximum of 8 statutory days holiday in the year.

Where an associate's rest day falls on a statutory holiday, then as the associate is not working
on the day of the holiday the spirit and intent of holiday entitlement is satisfied. However, in
exceptional circumstances, an associate can subsequently take an unpaid lieu day of holiday
subject to manufacturing requirements and operational needs.

General
i Qualifying Periods
Overtime will be paid provided that:

a) prior authorisation has been given,


b) the full Standard Shift Hours have been or will be worked (except
where absence from part of a shift is properly authorised),

Overtime will be paid for time worked.

ii Overtime Working During Shift Hours


Only one premia will apply for one period of work. Where overtime is worked the
greater of the shift or overtime premia will apply.

iii Overtime Working - Part-Time Workers


Part-time associates are eligible for over-time premium payments on hours worked:

a) in excess of the daily Standard Shift Hours


b) on any hour worked at the weekend above those required by contract.

iv Conditions

a) Prior Notice
Maximum possible notice will be given of a requirement to work overtime
and other than in the case of a breakdown or emergency, associates
required to work overtime after the normal stopping time (Monday to Friday)
shall be notified prior to the midday meal break and in the case of week-end
overtime prior to the stopping time on the Friday.

b) Restrictions and Limits to Restrictions


The Parties agree that systematic overtime is inappropriate as a method of
production and that when overtime is necessary no associate shall be
required or allowed to work more than the maximum daily and weekly
working limits laid down by the Working Time Regulations. The Company
will use a 52 week reference period for calculating average hours worked
by each employee, running 1 November to 31 October each year.
