I have chosen this topic because: it is the easiest to research because it has lots of website
about the colosseum and the research is more important than actually building the model.

1. When was the colosseum built = The famous Roman amphitheater, the
Colosseum, was built between A.D. 70 and 72 and was enjoyed by Roman citizens
during the height of the Roman Empire.
2. Who built and created the colosseum = The Colosseum's construction was ordered
under the rule of Vespasian. After Emperor Vespasian died, it was completed by
his sons Titus and Domitian. The physical construction work was done by Jewish
slaves, who were overseen by Roman architects, engineers, and artists.

bearing pillars, and external walls, stairs, and radial walls were constructed from

cemetery, a place of worship, for housing, workshops for artisans and merchants,
the home of a religious order, a fortified castle, and most recently as a tourist
attraction.
6. Why is the colosseum important to Ancient Rome = The Colosseum was built as
part of an imperial effort to revitalize Rome after the tumultuous year of the four
emperors, 69 CE. As with other amphitheatres, the emperor Vespasian intended
the Colosseum to be an entertainment venue, hosting gladiator fights, animal
hunts, and even mock naval battles.

The Colosseum is an amphitheatre built in Rome under the Flavian emperors of the Roman Empire.
It is also called the Flavian Amphitheatre. It is an elliptical structure made of stone, concrete, and
tuff, and it stands four stories tall at its highest point. It measures 620 by 513 feet (189 by 156
metres) and could hold as many as 50,000 spectators. The Colosseum was famously used for
gladiatorial combat.The colosseum is a building with scenes of thousands of hand-to hand combats
between gladiators, of contests between men and animals, and many larger combats.

The famous Roman amphitheater, the Colosseum, was built between A.D. 70 and 72 and was
enjoyed by Roman citizens during the height of the Roman Empire. The colosseum it was built in
Rome, Italy. The Colosseum's construction was ordered under the rule of Vespasian. After Emperor
Vespasian died, it was completed by his sons Titus and Domitian. The physical construction work
was done by Jewish slaves, who were overseen by Roman architects, engineers, and artists, the
colosseum was used by gladiators and animals basically everyone who fought or came to watch the
fight.

Materials to build the colosseum: travertine blocks were used for load-bearing pillars, and external
walls, stairs, and radial walls were constructed from blocks and bricks of tufa, and some techniques
used were: Arch, Vault, Dome, the arch and the vault, which were destined to carry Roman
engineering into a development directly away from that of ancient Greece, who preferred "post-
and-lintel" building methods to arches and domes.

The Colosseum was important to Ancient Rome because was it was apart of an imperial effort to
revitalise Rome after the tumultuous year of the four emperors, 69 CE. As with other
amphitheatres, the emperor Vespasian intended the Colosseum to be an entertainment venue,
hosting gladiator fights, animal hunts, and even mock naval battles.
