RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES

This chapter presents the methods and description of the research

design, research locale, and research respondents involved in the study. This

section describes the research instrument employed to gather data; the data-

gathering procedures; and the statistical treatment of how the gathered data is

analyzed.

Research Design

The study will use the descriptive and correlation design. A descriptive

survey design involves questions about the research topic. The principal

purpose of the researcher was to discover the level of accessibility of health

care services and level of satisfaction of residents of neighboring barangay. In

addition, the correlation approach was used to determine the relation of the

level of accessibility of health care services and level of satisfaction in

neighboring barangay.

Research Locale

The research study will be conducted in the neighboring barangays of

Maasin City namely: barangay Combado, Tagnipa, Mantahan, Mambajao,

Canturing, Basak, Cabulihan, Lib-og, Bilibol, and Guadalupe. The researchers

will take twenty percent (20%) of the population. Barangay Combado is 5.9

km away from the city. Barangay Tagnipa is 4.8 km away from the city.

Barangay Mantahan is 3.6 km away from the city. Barangay Mambajao is 6

km away from the city. Barangay Canturing is 6.1 km away from the city.

Barangay Basak is 17.9 km away from the city. Barangay Cabulihan is 16 km

away from the city. Barangay Lib-og is 7.8 km away from the city. Barangay
Bilibol is 18.1 km away from the city. Barangay Guadalupe is 16 km away

from the city.

Research Respondents

The respondents of this study were the residents of the neighboring

barangay. The researchers adapter convenience sampling, twenty percent

(20%) of the population. The residents who have an accessibility and/or has a

history of health care services were chosen as respondents. The researchers

desired to get 20 respondents in 10 barangays to have a total of 200

respondents.

Research Instrument

The study will use survey questionnaires as research tools. The

researchers have come up with an adopted with modification and validated

questionnaire that will satisfy the data that needs to be gathered and is

validated by experts. They will be utilized to determine the residents’

accessibility with health care services and level of satisfaction. The

questionnaire contains 3 indicators each. The first part, the level of

accessibility of health care services among residents has a number of 3

indicators that consist of numerous questions each that reflect the situation.

The second part is the level of satisfaction which also consist of 3 indicators

that has numerous questions each that reflect the situation.
