MY TRIP TO LAMPUNG

A few weeks ago, more precisely on Monday, November 20th, i, my sister, and her family
also her babysitter went to Lampung to attend my brother’s doctor’s oath ceremony. He studied
at Malahayati University in Lampung majoring in medicine and took up the profession of a
General Practioner. We started leaving from home to Merak Harbor at half past eight in the
morning using a private car. From home it took approximately two and a half hour to get there.
To get to Lampung we had to cross the ocean using a large ship called the “Ro-Ro Ship”. Ro-
Ro ship is a ship that can carry vehicles that move into the ship with it’s own propulsion and
can go out it’s own too, so that it is called roll on-roll off ship or known as the Ro-Ro ship.
Then, we arrive at Bakauheni Harbor in Lampung, and we’re traveling again for about 45
minutes to the hotel. In the hotel, we rested for a while, then we cleaned up and prepared
ourselves to meet my brother and his girlfriend for dinner. We had dinner at a restaurant called
Waroeng Diggers located in Lampung Hill, where there's a beautiful view of Lampung city
filled with twinkling lights from residents' houses, accompanied by the refreshing night breeze.
Of course, the food there is delicious and budget friendly.
After that, we said our goodbyes to my brother and his girlfriend, then headed straight back
to our hotel to rest. The next day, on my brother's oath-taking ceremony as a doctor, my sister
and I encountered a bit of an issue. It turned out that the outfit my sister was supposed to wear
to the event was suddenly missing from the suitcase. About 30 minutes we’re spent searching
for her clothes all over the room and bathroom, but we still couldn't find it. As everyone
panicked, suddenly my sister's husband came in carrying my sister's clothes and said, “You left
your clothes behind the car seat.” hearing that, we all breathed a sigh of relief and quickly got
ready, hurrying to the event.
Long story short, after 4 hours long , the event finally ended. We approached my brother
to congratulate him, and we also called our mother back in our hometown via video call. She
couldn't attend because she couldn't get a plane ticket. My mother cried tears of joy seeing her
son complete his education. Shortly after, we all took a photo together with my brother's
girlfriend's family. Then we said goodbye to him and went straight home to Pamulang using
the same route. So, that was my memorable trip to Lampung. I felt happy and proud seeing my
brother complete his education. Because of him, I was also motivated to finish my own
education.
