EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Mr Ahmad Zulfadzli owns Qoul Sports, which has two shop branches in Section 7
and Section 18 Shah Alam, Selangor. Quol Sports has been operating since 2010.
Qoul Sports offers various services and sales such as sportswear, printing and
embroidery. In addition, customers can also find sports accessories which can be
obtained by customers who enter their store. Every gadget and accessory available in
the store can provide many benefits to customers that can be obtained under one
roof. Qoul Sports started by accepting orders for sportswear and some services such
as printing and embroidery and now it has started selling various types of sports
game accessories. The most famous thing that customers buy is ordering sportswear
for the football team.

Qoul Sports is advertised on social media through platforms such as Facebook,


Shopee and Instagram. Qoul Sports sells high quality products because product
quality can be an effective marketing tool for a company. It can be used to convey
information to customers, Qoul Sports will ensure that they sell products that can
provide maximum satisfaction to customers when they use them.

Qoul Sports also has benefits that they will give to customers. For example, the
owner provides sports-related knowledge services to customers when customers
want to buy and use his services so that they better understand the best fabric quality
provided by his company and help customers follow the appropriate budget.
1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of The study

Every student at UiTM who intends to obtain a bachelor's degree is required to take a
course entitled "Principles of Entrepreneurship," and they must pass it to graduate. We
concluded that teaching students about this subject would be the best way to provide them
with the knowledge and experience they need to become successful entrepreneurs. Case
studies will be completed by students for the company or organization of their choice if they
enroll in this class. Students are expected to conduct face-to-face interviews with
representatives of any organization or company to obtain information about business
intelligence, market needs, and customer desires, as well as analyze the obstacles and
prospects facing the business. In addition, students are required to research and, ultimately,
implement possible solutions to problems faced by the organization. In this specific
situation, our group concluded that it would be beneficial to do a case study on Qoul Sports,
a company that specializes in the sale of sportswear, Printing , Embroidery and sales of
sports accessories as well as special services are provided. Regarding the challenges the
company is currently experiencing, we would greatly appreciate receiving further
information. By going through these case studies, students can improve their knowledge
base, especially with regard to the inner workings of a firm or organization. Students learn
not only how to develop unique business skills and ideas through the process of developing
their own enterprise, but also how to think creatively and in ways that go beyond the
constraints of traditional business thinking. As a direct result of this, students will graduate
with stronger intellectual capacity, which will serve them well in the future when it comes to
running their own businesses.

1.2 Purpose of The Study

Entrepreneurship education has several uses. Entrepreneurship education helps


students explore and discover opportunities in business. Therefore, this case study
investigates how successful entrepreneurs run their businesses, use their expertise and
abilities and attract customers. This outlines Qoul Sports management and
troubleshooting. Case studies help us focus on our customers and use our products
well. When more people use a company's product or service, then case studies show
trust.
2.0 COMPANY INFORMATION

2.1 Background of Company

Qoul Sports is owned by Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli. He has been running this business
since 2010. He started his business in Pusat Komersial Section 7 Shah Alam and
Ole-Ole Shopping Centre Section 18 Shah Alam , Selangor because he realized that
this shop is located in a strategic area and is the first shop that provides printing and
embroidery services and is active in academic collaboration football sports and
sports accessories as there is a lot of demand and demand for such things in the
location. So, he took the opportunity to open a store that sells sportswear and sports
game accessories to help people save customers time. He claimed that he was the
first person to open a shop selling goods mentioned in his area and one of his
objectives was to ease the burden of the community there to make it easier for them
to buy such products in his shop. Ahmad Zulfadzli also mentioned that Qoul Sports
exists. He opened his first store at the Commercial Center Section 7 Shah Alam,
Selangor and when his company developed he opened a second branch at Ole-Ole
Shopping Centre, Section 18, Shah Alam, Selangor. They are not only sportswear,
Printing, Embroidery and Sports Accessories, but also provide services such as
badminton racket string grip installation for customers. Their target market is young
people and adults aged 45 and under, especially students and athletes. It's because
students and athletes tend to look for things like this from parents who don't have the
ability to do sports.

2.3 Product & Services

Qoul Sports is a store that sells a lot of sports clothes, as well as Printing and embroidery
services. In addition, this company also sells sports accessories such as Badminton Rackets,
and Badminton. In addition, this shop also provides services such as shirt printing, grip
installation and shirt embroidery. To ensure the best product quality, Mr. Ahmad Zulfadli
only focuses on products that he trusts and are of high quality at affordable prices. The brand
taken is “JOMA KELME”. Most of the sports goods in the store are from “Joma Kleme”
itself. It is a company rich in products that have the best quality and provide comfort to its
customers, the products produced include Football Sports Shoes, T-shirts, socks, and sports
equipment accessories and are committed to providing quality and practical sports products
to users.

What we can describe is that Sportswear, Printing, Embroidery and sports equipment
accessories nowadays have become our basic needs. This is because we need sports clothes
and sports equipment to do sports activities according to certain sports but don't forget that
we are also sports equipment to play sports in the right place. Qoul Sports store provides any
kind of sportswear that all users need. What we want to highlight here, sportswear and sports
accessories are the main accessories and Ahmad Zulfadzli puts the main focus on them.
Cooperation between Academic Football Teams. To meet the demands and needs of society
is one of the objectives of Qoul Sports. In addition, Qoul Sports also sells a variety of high-
quality badminton and badminton equipment. So, Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli is likely to restock
more badminton and bju T-Shirt to meet the demand of his customers. T-shirts are sold at
prices ranging from RM 20 to RM 40 in a range that the public can afford depending on the
design and fabric used. Furthermore, to get more profit, Ahmad Zulfadzli took the
opportunity to sell essential Covid-19 items during the Covid pandemic such as RTK tests,
sanitizers and masks.

In order to satisfy customers, En Ahmad Zulfadzli always prioritizes the quality of his
products. He also applies the same to all his customers to always keep their products clean
and organized. He required all his employees to do a cleaning routine every morning before
opening the shop. This routine is one of the keys to his success today. In addition, in order to
provide good service to his customers, he will train his employees with basic knowledge and
skills such as how to print shirts on clothes, give cross to employees in embroidery
techniques and Badminton Racket grip installation techniques. With training, they will
become better and more skilled in delivering services.
2.4 Business Marketing & Operation

As Mr. Ahmad Zulfadli stated in an interview that his intention to start a business is to
make a profit at first. In addition, he also wants to help the youth out there by providing job
opportunities for them. Mr. Ahmad Zulfadli is a kind and firm person. He provides a
platform for teenagers to learn and develop skills and gain knowledge while still being able
to earn pocket money independently without depending on their parents.

For marketing, Encik Ahmad is more comfortable using the old way of word of mouth,
but Encik Ahmad Zulfadli also has staff who have already prepared a schedule to post on
social media, especially Facebook for marketing purposes. Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli also told
his staff to focus on Facebook as a medium to promote his store because Facebook users are
of all ages. Not only that, Facebook is the best medium for business promotion because there
are also many entrepreneurs who actively promote their products as well. Mr. Zulfadzli
believes that this can be a good competitive advantage as a way for him to improve his
business over time. Its employees are trained to deliver twice a day. Posting should be made
at 2 pm which is lunch time and 8 pm or later. These two times were chosen because officers
like to scroll through social media during their lunch break to keep up with events from early
in the morning. Whereas 9 pm is a practical time because office hours are over and people
use their phones at night. Moreover, Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli always teaches his employees
how to be more spontaneous in front of the camera because they have to record themselves
to promote the product as well as teach employees to be braver in serving customers with
full courtesy. Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli said, his employees have to choose one product to
promote every day as their daily task. What we can see from here, Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli has
succeeded in disciplining his employees. Not only that, by posting videos every day,
marketing will be consistent and able to attract more customers to enter the store.

Moving on to business operations, Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli chose to run his business because
he felt that he would get high demand if he looked at the strategic area of Pusat Komersil
Section 7, Shah Alam, Selangor. He took the opportunity to gather customers because Qoul
Sports was the first sportswear, printing and embroidery store to open. For Mr. Ahmad
Zulfadzli, in this era, sports are very important for people because living your life without
using appropriate sports clothing has a great impact on personal comfort. As we can say,
people cannot do their best if they are not comfortable. In a modern day setting, everything
will be online and happen at the click of a button.
Qoul Sports operates from 11am to 9pm every day. As for the workers, they must come in
at 10.30am to do the cleaning routine before opening the shop and leave at 9pm. Workers
work in two shifts. The morning shift is from 10.30am to 3pm and the night shift is from
3pm to 9pm. Since Qoul Sports has Four employees, one will work in the morning shift and
the rest in the night shift. Shifts among employees will rotate each week so that everyone has
the opportunity to work both shifts.

Next, nowadays sports clothes and sports equipment are very necessary and are a
necessity for those who carry out sports activities. We can see how people play a role using
their clothing and sports equipment in daily functions. During the Covid pandemic, Qoul
Sports sales are getting lower, Mr. Ahmad Zulfadzli took the initiative to do online sales and
make cash on delivery to reduce the number of customers entering his store. Mr. Ahmad
Zulfadzli also uses courier delivery to deliver his customer's orders. This is because the
courier has the fastest access he has ever experienced. The delivery courier hub is also near
his shop only. It will save cost and time to go there. This initiative has finally raised the
name of Qoul Sports because it can meet the needs of customers during the pandemic.

2.5 Financial Achievement

Qoul Sports has been operating since 2010, with sales running smoothly until
Malaysia was disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019. Qoul Sports' finances
became unstable due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) controlled by the
government. During MCO, people are forced to stay at home. All businesses and
industries were also forced to stop operations. Therefore, Qoul Sports cannot operate
as usual. Qoul Sports is experiencing problems in paying store rent and employee
salaries. However, Qoul Sports enters 2020 with a new strategy as all businesses and
industries can continue to operate as usual. Finances are slowly growing and covering
losses for 2019. Mr. Razif claims that Qoul Sports' highest profit has been almost RM
30,000 per year. He stated that because the location is not in the city center, the profit
he gets every day is from RM 400 to RM 500 only. However, with demand and needs
increasing every day, he believes Qoul Spots will be the choice of the public and be
able to make a profit over time.
