Calculate the food energy using specific factors.

Q. From the Nutrition Facts of the product A above;

a) Calculate how many kcal energy does one serving of product A provided. Show
your steps of calculation including specific energy factor. Consider your
answers in kcal and kJ (1 kcal = 4.2 kJ), and at maximum two decimal points.

b) Then from the answer, calculate the percentage of kcal each of the energy
nutrients contributes to the total food.

c) Provide your comments based on dietary intake recommendation for CHO is


50 – 65% TEI, Protein is 10 – 20% TEI, and fats is 25 – 30% TEI per day.

Briefly describe the 10 steps of carbohydrate metabolism (glycolysis).
