Metabolism

Physiology: The scientific study of functions and mechanisms in a living

system, such as humans, etc.

Introduction
Human body requires energy to do its daily tasks.
By eating or drinking we get calories = we get energy
100 calories, it's a way of describing how much energy your body could get
from eating or drinking it.

How we can get energy by eating or drinking?

A/Through the metabolism process

Metabolism: The series of chemical reactions that turns food into energy

Because calories is energy we get:

Calories/Energy Body Get: Unit measurement of energy often used to express

the nutritional value of foods or drinks (how much calories/energy body get
from eating or drinking).
It is equivalent to the heat energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of
water by 1 °C and = 1kcal

Note: if food/drinks are not provided, the body won’t have calories/energy
enough to do daily tasks, =
To stay at around the same weight, the calories your body uses should be the same as the
amount of calories you eat and drink. If we want to lose weight, we need to have amounts of
calories from eating/drinking less than the amount of calories our body uses (BMR)
