WRITTEN WORK- ACTIVITY 2.

The main issue faced by indigenous people in the Philippines today is discrimination.
The discrimination among our indigenous peoples does not disappear even before, they
always face it, even if we say that there is a law that promotes and protect them, many
of us are still ignorant of treating them in a right way. Discrimination harms indigenous
peoples in many ways, mentally, physically, spiritually. It is clearly visible that the
discrimination among our native peoples are already gone too far, specially the
discrimination regarding their legal rights to their cultural lands, properties and also in
high quality education and even in health services.

There are a lot of government programs that are helpful to our indigenous peoples,
last discussion we tackled the 10 programs and services that the National Commission
on Indigenous peoples (NCIP) provide to empowering our native peoples. All of the said
programs and services are helpful in addressing the needs of indigenous peoples here
in the Philippines, one of the most useful among the programs is the IP heath services
program, since most of indigenous peoples are located in remote areas it hard for them
to seek for medical treatment but with the help of this service their struggle on this
become more lighter. In addition, when indigenous peoples are in good health, they can
work and do their duties more effectively and productively that leads them to be more
better citizens.

We need to protect indigenous peoples because we are all interconnected, we must

protect them because when they are secure, we all benefit even the next generation,
why? Because they are a big help in conserving and restoring forests and our natural
resources, their culture provides valuable insights, and also they are also humans like us
who deserves protection and everything that this world can offer.

Indigenous people help the community in conserving and restoring forests and our
natural resources, their sustainable land use like their muyung practice help fights
climate change. They also sometimes allows to explore their culture so that we can gain
valuable insights and help us understand it. They also provides creative products from
recycled materials that helps the community to become more sustainable.

In conclusion, indigenous peoples are not different from us, it is more acceptable to let
discrimination leave the the path of every indigenous people in this world, let them leave
away from this discrimination thing. What we need is their need too, provide them the
attention that what everyone gets to address their needs more effetively. Protecting them
is not a choice it is a must. We are all interconnected, the only thing that makes us
different is on how view the world.
