STATEMENT OF PURPOS

Software development has come a long way since its rst use in 1959. Today, software is used in
almost every aspect of our lives, from our smartphones to our cars and medical devices. With the
growing demand for software and the advances in arti cial intelligence comes the need for more
developers to keep up with demand. Understanding the signi cance and career prospects of the
course, I have secured admission to the Bachelor of Science in Computing in Software
Development programme at Dundalk Institute of Technology

I completed my matriculation education from International Community School, Kotagiri (Kerala,

India), in 2020 with 88.8 per cent. Later, I obtained a cumulative average of 68.4 and completed my
higher secondary education at Sir Syed English School, Kerala in 2022. I have always been
interested in learning more about computers because they are integral to our lives. It's impressive
how much technology has evolved since my childhood, and I think it's important for younger
generations to understand what's happening around them. The world is changing so quickly that it
can be hard to keep up with everything happening and even more complicated when you don't know
what's happening! I chose a BSc (Hons) in Computing in Software Development because I believe
it is an important and powerful skill. It will help me be more successful in my future career and
allow me to take on new challenges that I may not have otherwise considered. I also chose this
degree because it will allow me to study more than just computers and software development,
which is why I am interested in pursuing a career as a software engineer. The combination of these
topics with other areas such as mathematics and physics makes the program especially appealing to
me

There are many reasons why I chose Ireland to pursue a BSc (Hons) in Computing in Software
Development. First, Ireland has an excellent reputation for education and research in computing.
This reputation is due to the fact that Ireland is the home of many well-known universities. These
universities have been producing highly quali ed graduates for decades, making them ideal places
for students looking to pursue higher education. Second, Ireland is also known for its advanced
infrastructure for research and development in software development. The country has several high-
quality computer science programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, which provides
with valuable training as well as network connections with other professionals in the eld. Thirdly,
the cost of living in Ireland is much lower than other European countries. Additionally, Ireland is a
leading nation in the eld of IT. I believe that studying abroad will help me achieve my goals faster
and more ef ciently. The IT eld has been growing rapidly in recent years, with many new jobs

I chose the Dundalk Institute of Technology because of its reputation for quality and excellence in

succeed in my studies and make a real impact on my future. The school has a great reputation in
both the academic and industry sectors. The professors are highly quali ed and experienced, this
will give me access to guidance and support from professionals who can help me develop skills in
real time. The school's curriculum is tailored to provide the most relevant experience. The course
structure focuses on the different aspects of developing software, including design and
programming. I also chose Dundalk Institute of Technology as it strongly focuses on training
students for careers in software development. As a student, I will gain skills that will be invaluable
when nding employment after graduation. I am passionate about computers and want to work with
them every day; this degree is will be a great way to learn more about them while also gaining
valuable skills that can help me succeed in my career. I also believe that this degree will teach me
how to work well with others, which will help me achieve success at work after university
graduation. The coursework covers team building and communication skills vital for success within
an organisation where teamwork is essential for any project's success

After nishing my education in Ireland, I will return to India. Software developers are in high
demand in India. According to a McKinsey Global report, digital technologies have the potential to
create 65 million new jobs in India by 2025, faster than the average for other occupations. This
creates opportunities for software developers, who can earn higher salaries and livings than
developers in other parts of the world. I wish to stretch my profession to dynamic rms like Tata
Consultancy Services and Deloitte. With the additional worth of an international degree from
Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland, I am con dent that I will be furnished with the
competency to deliver the expectations in such jobs. I look forward to participating in the
progressive academic environment of Ireland
