UNIT - I

groups with relevant examples and structures.
c) Discuss the different secondary structures of proteins. Interpret the role CO1 (08)
of various bonds in stabilizing the secondary structure of proteins.

2. a) Illustrate and explain anomers, epimers and stereo isomers with suitable CO1 (06)
examples.
b) Classify amino acids based on ‘R’ group giving one example for each CO1 (06)
class with structure.
c) Illustrate and explain the Watson and Crick model of DNA and its salient CO1 (08)
features.

UNIT - II
3. a) Describe the different types of enzymes specificities with relevant CO2 (08)
examples.
b) Define Co-enzymes. Explain the mechanism of action of NAD and FAD as CO2 (07)
co-enzymes in enzyme catalyzed reactions.
c) Compare the advantages of enzymes over chemical catalyst. CO2 (05)

4. a) Classify enzymes according to the IVB classification giving one example CO2 (08)
for each class. Explain the major class oxidoreductase.

note on the significance of the pathway in various tissues.

c) Describe in detail the sequence of reactions in urea cycle. Add a note on CO5 (10)
its regulation.
