registration for all PEIs operating in and from Singapore. Since May 2010, SIM has also been
awarded the EduTrust Certification by the CPE in recognition for its implementation of robust
academic systems and processes, and the quality delivery of its education.

How it all works
SIM’s Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Management is delivered on a simple,
user-friendly digital platform, with clear programme progression designed to make life easier
for students at every step of the journey.
Each session comprises one-hour scheduled online teaching by an experienced SIM academic,
and four hours of online individual and group activities. Students are further supported by
recorded videos, case studies and activities which are hosted through the centralised online
learning platform. Additional learning is expected through self-paced supplementary reading
and directed study.
Students must achieve a minimum overall mark of 50 percent to satisfy module assessment
requirements. Assessments include, but are not limited to, assignments and projects, project
reports and presentations, case study analysis, self-reflection, peer evaluation, quizzes, and class
exercises. Each module will include an individual written assessment at the end of the module.

Standard Programme Terms
Graduate Certificate students are allowed a maximum period of 16 months to complete all
requirements of their programme of study
Applicants will be advised of any cancellation within 30 days of the commencement date
Applicants will receive a full refund of course fees and miscellaneous fees if the course does not
commence
An application fee is payable for each application form that is submitted. This fee (inclusive of
the 8% GST) is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee will be fully refunded only if the
intake does not commence. Unpaid applications will not be processed.

Your documents and
terms of application
You will need to supply the following documents with your application:
Passport-sized photograph. Your photo must be taken in the last 3 months. It must be
JPEG format, 400x514 pixels, and a file size of around 60KB.
Proof of IELTS or TOEFL results for applicants whose academic qualications are not
attained in the English language.
The Private Education Act was legislated in December 2009 to regulate the private education institutions (PEIs) in Singapore. The regulatory
regime, as set-out under the Private Education Act and its subsidiary legislation, comprises the Enhanced Registration Framework and the EduTrust
Certification Scheme, both administered by the Committee for Private Education (CPE), a part of Skills Future Singapore (SSG).
Singapore Institute of Management Pte Ltd (SIM PL), in meeting the regulatory requirements under the Private Education Act, has put in place the

Management
This module will introduce you to cybersecurity management concepts using the confidentiality,
integrity and availability (CIA) concept—a popular model designed to guide policies for
information security within an organisation. Topics will include the CIA model, techniques to
protect confidentiality of documents, verifying integrity of documents, and ensuring availability
of data and information systems. You will develop an understanding of basic cybersecurity
concepts and develop security consciousness to further appreciate the importance of security,
develop an understanding of key concepts, and apply that knowledge within a workplace.

Governance
The Data Privacy, Data Ethics and Governance module will introduce you to the key concepts
of data privacy. Topics include data privacy definitions and issues, and methods of protecting
privacy of data. You will learn to understand the contemporary situation within the space, and
how technology can be utilised to protect the privacy of sensitive personal data. You will also
learn how to formulate a code of ethical practice for an organisation, and how to establish
systems and processes to ensure adherence to professional, legal, and ethical requirements for
data usage.

The Emerging Technologies module will enhance your awareness of trending technologies
that are impacting businesses today. It will cover four emerging areas of digital transformation,
connectivity technologies, intelligence technologies and business transformation, with each
area analysed to build your understanding of key developments, implications, and the role of
big data in technology adoption.

and Finance
for Managers
This module will provide you with an essential understanding of financial accounting,
management accounting and finance concepts. Topics covered include accounting equations,
recording of business transactions, preparation of financial statements, cost terminology, cost
behaviour, the time value of money, as well as budgeting and investment decisions. You will
develop fundamental accounting and financial management skills that are essential for good
business management.

This module will explore the security analytics approach to cybersecurity, focusing on the
analysis of data to develop proactive security measures. It will help you get to grips with basic
cybersecurity analytics concepts, and develop you understanding of the expanding field of
security analytics and its potential for tackling vulnerability to cybercrime.
You will learn the benefits of security analytics and its suitability in a high-volume data
landscape, and the potential to respond quickly to cybersecurity analysis. You will also develop
an understanding of how to implement security analytics through a variety of use cases, from
behaviour monitoring to network traffic analysis.

Visualisation
Data visualisation is a field of data science which has expanded rapidly in recent years as de-
signers generate new methods to view and visualise data. This module will explore how accurate
representation of data allows a wide range of audiences and stakeholders to identify emerging
patterns and themes to inform business decision-making. You will learn the technology, concepts
and techniques behind visualising data, benefiting from hands-on experience in creating visual
representations of data. The module will cover design principles for creating meaningful displays
of both qualitative and quantitative analysis to facilitate managerial decision-making.

in an organisational context, and leadership expectations with a focus on the context of the

within, and without, an organisation.
The module will touch on a variety of leadership styles, management approaches, and character
traits of leaders both historic and contemporary. You will develop your understanding of
successful leadership skills, and learn to apply this knowledge within future leadership roles
tomeet organisational goals, inspire employees, and improve communication and relationship
skills.

This module will equip you with a fundamental understanding of key principles of management

organisation management impacts personal and team effectiveness, providing an opportunity
