BMS Delegation met Finance Minister on NPS Issue –Demanded to provide Guaranteed Pension

A high level delegation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh led by Shri Ravindra Himte, All India General
Secretary, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) submitted a memorandum to Hon’ble Finance Minister
demanding Guaranteed Pension under NPS like Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

BMS has conducted a huge demonstration at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi in which thousands of employees
belonging to Defence, Railways, Postal, Central Government establishments, State Government and
Local Body have participated.

BMS has welcomed some of major changes made in the NPS. But the present system does not provide
any assured pension. So there is a demand to scrap the NPS and restore the Old Pension Scheme.
Responding to BMS demand, the Hon’ble Minister assured that, the Government of India is considering
employees issues seriously and wishes to take some positive steps.

The nine members delegation includes Shri Ravindra Himte, General Secretary, BMS; Shri Sukhwinder
Singh Dicky, Vice President, BMS; Shri B Surendran, Organising Secretary, BMS; Shri Sadhu Singh,
Secretary General, Govt. Employees National Confederation (GENC); Shri Dinesh Kumar Gautam,
President, Bharatiya Pratiraksha Mazdoor Sangh; Shri Vipan Kumar Dogra, President, Rashtriya Rajya
Karmachari Sangh (RRKS); Shri Mangesh Deshpande, General Secretary, Bharatiya Railway Mazdoor
Sangh; Shri Anant Kumar Pal, General Secretary, Bharatiya Postal Employees Federation and Dr.
Deependra Chahar, General Secretary, BMS Delhi State.
