Swacch Bharat

Just as a clean mind lives in a clean body, healthy people can live in a clean
country only. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by Honourable
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014 on the occasion of
Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti in our country regarding cleanliness. This is a
good initiative taken by the government, but we have to participate with the
mind, not for showmanship. If we keep cleanliness in our house, then all the
people will get used to it and all will be able to help in keeping our home as
well as our country clean. This initiative aims to make India completely
clean by the 150th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, which is 2
October 2019. The government has told the responsibility of every citizen to
keep the country clean and for this reason, people are climbing in different
parts of the country and participating in it.

Under this campaign, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has taken gutkha,
paan, tobacco, etc. in all the government offices and offices of Uttar Pradesh,
taking desired steps. With such efforts, India will soon become a clean and
beautiful country. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan set a lot of objectives for a
better and a cleaner India. However, the primary purpose of the mission was
to create awareness about the importance of sanitation among people. It was
aimed to appeal not just the sweepers and workers, but to all the citizens
residing in the country. The Swachh Bharat Mission aims to construct clean
and hygenic sanitary facilities like restrooms and bathing areas and to
eliminate the practice of open defecation in the rural regions.

The concept of the ‘cleanliness drive’ campaign is to provide the citizens with
basic sanitation with the proper sewage system, liquid and solid waste
disposal systems, bathing facility, lavatories, hand pumps, safe and
adequate drinking water supply, and rural cleanliness to every citizen.
Similarly, the Indian Government also wanted to promote awareness on
health, sanitation, and Education among people through the Awareness
Programmes. The awareness programmes teach them proper waste
segregation and disposal methods.
