Executive Summary

We are planning on launching a record label like no other, called Reign

Records. Unlike many other labels (that only work with known artist’s) we want to

give an opportunity to those that have talent, but have not yet built a fane base. We

want to encourage underground artist to build a name for their selves with the help

of our company. We want them to feel that Reign Records is a home away from

home, where business is handled in a trustworthy manner. Our logo is Rags to

Riches representing the struggles faced by upcoming artist, until they reach success

and become wealthy. There are no specific characteristics that one must have in

order to be represented by Reign Records, Nor is there a specific sound requested.

We encourage and value all cultures in our company, being that we want to be a

diverse record label.

As an upcoming record label, we are not expecting to reach profits until late

months of our first opening year. Therefore, we are not planning on charging any

fees to upcoming artist; instead we want to build with them until they’ve peaked,

and then start asking for royalty fees. Once we have built the right reputation and

fan base we will begin to collect a 15% percent of the artist’s profit. This fee will be

distributed with 5% as profit for company founders, while the other 10% will be

invested in innovations for the company, and its assets.

We are aware that there are many other record labels out there that have

already built their reputation and fame, but we believe in our label. Our may

concerns are our artist’s, and their well being; as we know labels apply much

pressure on their artist’s. We make sure our artists are in the right state of mind in
order to express their talent through the most beautiful way, music. The music

industry can be a very cold place, but we want to make sure our artist have the best

experience through their music journey. We want to be that record label that

believes in artist before they believe in themselves, and encourages them to share

their talent with the rest of the world.

An addition to the label we want to introduce an app called Reign Jams where

you can jam to the music of all the Artists signed to RR. Becoming a member to this

app gives you access to exclusive music produced by Reign Records, and even

previews of new music. The app will provide a two-week trial for new customers,

and will then charge a monthly subscription fee of $8.99. The app will also have

access to Reign Records merchandise consisting of Shirts, Long-sleeves, hoodies,

shorts, sweatpants, headbands, and more. The merchandise will be affordable, and

5% out of the profits made selling merchandise will be donated to music schools

across the country that’s goal is similar to ours; helping artist enforce their talent.

We always aim high at Reign Records because we believe solely in success. By

the end of the year our goal is to have signed fifteen artists, where at least five of

them reached a state where profit can start being made. The artist that has not yet

peaked will continue to be motivated by our company. We expect to sell at least

twenty thousand records, and have one record go platinum. Our company is

determined to go from Rags to Riches, and will remain humble in its efforts to reach

maximum success.

 Introduction

To reach success we know there are many factors that must be incorporated in

the process. As mentioned earlier in the summary, we focus on the well being of

artist. One of our many projects will be to hold weekly “motivation reinforcement”

meetings that will demand participation of all artists to spread positive energies

among one another. In these meetings we will be open to hearing about problems

acing with our career and even personal problems. Our main purpose with these

meeting is to allow artists to feel as comfortable as possible, as well as letting them

become aware that they are not alone. As founder we want to make artists feel at

their best, in order to integrate those positive vibes into their music.

Reign Records wants to have a close relationship with its artists. As founders of

such a humble company we want to spend one on one time in the studio with

Artists. Our goal is to attend at least one recording session a week with each artist

and giving him or her feedback on tracks. We will also review mix tapes, and albums

before they are dropped to make sure artists are producing at the highest of their

ability. We want each artist to make a mix tape within the first two months of being

part of the company, and an album within the first six months. Artists will be

provided with the producers, and sound technicians that create only the best quality

music. Our mission is to guide artists through the process, taking them from Rags to

Riches.
