A distinction must be made between options that are enabled by means of a license key
and options that do not require a license key. The license key (20-digit combination of
numbers and letters) is installed in the FL-C service mode under "Configuration/
License" .
Here, it should be noted that the date is entered in the format "01-jan-2300".
A detailed description can be found in the FL-C Online Help under "Configuration/
Licenses".

The following DICOM options are possible in the different versions of the FLUOROSPOT
Compact:
With this version, a postscript printer can be operated via the network. This is enabled
using a license key.
Dicom 0

See the the general or specific hardcopy camera information, as well as Online Help in the
FL-C, chapter “Installation of Options”.
General Remarks 0
There are two different possibilities for connecting a hardcopy camera to the FL-C. Both
options can also be used together.
Released cameras are published on the Intranet, Med UPTIME Services (Product Infor-
mation / Cameras / AX / FLUOROSPOT Compact).
Camera startup must be performed in cooperation with the camera manufacturer's service
technician.
A network must exist at the customer's location for the DICOM Print option. A 5 m twisted
pair Ethernet cable for connection to the customer network is included in the FL-C ship-
ment.
With DICOM Print, the customer can choose between several cameras, different film for-
mats and subdivisions directly in the FL-C user interface.
Only those HCCs that have been released for the DICOM Print option may be connected.
A camera can be connected locally; for this, there does not have to be a customer net-
work.
With this option, the customer can choose between the camera film formats and film sub-
divisions only by using the camera manufacturer's keypad. Direct selection in the FL-C
user interface is not possible.
Only those HCCs that have been released for SPDI may be connected.
Remote Trigger Switch
• An HCC remote trigger switch is integrated into the FL-C. This additional function
replaces the HCC footswitch for triggering the store function. In this document, connec-
tion of the FL-C remote trigger switch to an HCC is always described.
• The HCC footswitch cable, Part No. 56 07 564 X0651, is included in the FL-C shipment.
• Footswitch cable, camera side. Connection depends on the particular camera model
and must be ordered from the camera manufacturer.

Standard Configuration 0
Minimum Configuration 0
The network setting must be performed in cooperation with the customer’s network
administrator and with the DICOM Print option, also with the camera manufacturer’s tech-
nician.
Before starting the settings, the following information must be available:
- the IP address that is to be used for the FL-C
- the subnet address
- the IP address for the gateway (if required)
- the computer name
• Enter the data as described in the FL-C Online Help chapter Configuration / Network.
If Configuration/ DICOM Print Settings is selected in the FL-C service mode, the input
box appears (Fig. 2 / p. 11).
• Perform the configuration as described in Online Help.
Fig. 2:
NOTE All subdivisions must be deselected under Format for all film
sizes (Size) not released.
If Configuration/ Local Settings is selected in the FL-C service mode, the start screen
appears(Fig. 3 / p. 12).
• Perform the configuration as described in Online Help.
Fig. 3:
• Camera connection and startup must be performed in cooperation with the camera
manufacturer’s service technician.
• Set the camera so that your contrast curve is in the tolerance range specified in the
IQAP.
General Remarks 0
This option includes an SPDI board that is installed in the Primergy PC and either a 26 m
or 60 m long SPDI data cable to the camera. Print jobs must be activated either at the
camera key pad (manual mode) or run automatically if remote triggering to the HCC is
configured ( -> not manual mode).
To select the particular operating mode, select Configuration/ SPDI Settings -> Manual
(triggering via the HCC key pad) or deselect it (triggering from the FL-C via remote trigger-
ing to the HCC = footswitch contact) in the FL-C service mode (Fig. 5 / p. 15).
Camera Interface 0
The SPDI board is installed in the FLUOROSPOT PC in the M59 (Fig. 4 / p. 14) and is
the interface between the FL Compact and the HCC.
Every image transfer from the FL-C to the HCC is made in the 1024 matrix.
Gateways 0
• Some HCC manufacturers use a gateway to the camera. The gateway is connected in
the same way as a camera.
• Between the gateway and the camera there is a special communication protocol and
special cabling from the HCC manufacturer that cannot be checked by the Siemens
technician.
The hardcopy formats depend on the camera model and the film sizes it uses. For
requirements and restrictions, see the Intranet, Med UPTIME Services (Product Informa-
tion / Cameras / AX / FLUOROSPOT Compact).
Installation 0
A laser camera can be connected via a 26 m or 60 m data cable. It must be ensured that
the connector with the HCC designation is connected to the HCC camera interface. When
this is done, the cable shielding is connected over Pin 1 of the HCC connector in the cam-
era to Gnd potential.

NOTE Only those HCCs that have been released for this connected may
be connected!
• The remote trigger cable is connected to the FL-C at X3 on the SPDI board and is
secured to the back of the FL-C container.
• A strain relief for the cable must be provided on the FL-C M59.
• The connection from here to the HCC must be made in cooperation with the camera
manufacturer's service technician using the FTS3. connector that is included in the
shipment at Pins 1 and 6 (Fig. 5 / p. 15).
• Lay the cable to the HCC side so that it is not possible to accidentally pull it out.
• Connection to and settings in the HCC may be performed only in cooperation with or by
the camera manufacturer's technician.
• Set the camera so that your contrast curve is in the tolerance range specified in the
IQAP (IQAP document, chapter "Hardcopy Camera").
• For requirements and restrictions, see the Intranet, Med UPTIME Services (Product
Information / Cameras / AX / FLUOROSPOT Compact).
NOTE The option of connecting the camera via a 100 m duplex fiber
optic cable NO LONGER exists for new installations.
The OCL is comprised of two transceivers and a duplex fiber optic cable to transfer image
data between the SPDI interface board and the HCC.
With a connection of the FL-C to the laser camera via a 100 m duplex fiber optic cable
(LWL), an OCL must be installed in the M16 that is connected via a cable to M59.X4.
The fiber optic cable must be connected to the input/output of the OCL transmitter.
When securing the fiber optic cable with cable ties to the M16 housing, make sure that the
minimum bending radius of the fiber optic cable is not less than 25 mm.
The 230 V~ power line connection for the OCL receiver must be made available on the
camera. It can be seem from the LEDs on the side of the unit whether the OCL is ready for
operation. For additional information regarding the function test of the camera interface,
see the Online Help in the FL-C.
