DAY 104

THE DISTINGUISHING MARKS OF THE EKKLESIA (CHURCH) OF CHRIST, THE HOUSE OF GOD, THE HOLY
ASSEMBLY OF PRIESTS

BIBLICAL AND UNBIBLICAL MINISTRIES (continued)

5. WHAT ARE THE MINISTRIES IN THE BODY OF CHRIST?

All who have obeyed the gospel, being baptized into the death burial and Resurrection and into
one body for their salvation in Christ have been all made to drink into one spirit (Acts 2:38-39; 8:36-39;
22:16; 1Peter 3:18-21; 1Corinthians 12:13) God has bestowed on them the blessing of the indwelling
presence of the Spirit and are anointed and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise until the day of
redemption (2Corinthians 1:19-22; Galatians 3:26-27; 4:4-6; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30). They are the
members of the body of Christ who must serve God in His house with the gifts of Grace received from
the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we have already stated, know that "ministry" involves every member of the body of Christ (Romans
12:3-5; 1Corinthians 12:4-7; Ephesians 4:7-10). There are not just what some people called five-fold
ministry (Ephesians 4:11) rather we have seven-fold ministry in Romans 12:6-8 and nine-fold ministry in
1Corinthians 12:27—30. When we summarise these three passages of the scripture, behold, we have
the following ministries based on the gifts of Grace from the Lord Jesus Christ, the embodiment of
Divine Grace and Glory.

1. Ministry of Apostles: This refers to the twelve (12) men chosen by Christ as his special messengers and
Paul the apostle to the gentiles (nation). (1st Corinthians 12: 28—29; Ephesians 4:11)

2. Ministry of Prophets: These were inspired preachers and teachers of the inspired word of God in the
New Testament of Jesus Christ. (1st Corinthians 12:28—29; Ephesians 4:11)

3. Ministry of Evangelists: They are itinerant Preachers the Gospel of Christ in the work of the ministry of
reconciliation (Romans 12:7; Ephesians 4:1; Colossians 4:17)
4. Ministry of Elders: These are all the overseers and the pastors in each congregation of the ekklesia
Church of Christ (Acts 20:17, 28; Romans 12:8 1st Corinthians 12:28 Ephesians 4:11)

5. Ministry of Teachers: (Romans 12:7; 1st Corinthians 12:28-29; Ephesians 4:11)

6. Ministry of Deacons—men servants (Acts 6:1-6; 1Timothy 3:8-13)
