TEKNOFEST FESTIVAL
WHAT İS TECHNOFEST?
TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival is an aviation,
technology and space technology festival held in Turkey. It is the first
and only festival organized by the Turkish Technology Team
Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, aiming to
develop Turkey's national technologies.

This is the logo of TEKNOFEST.

In general, it aims to support and develop National Technologies and


to raise awareness of people in this field. For this reason, it is open to
the public and free of charge. While seminars, award-winning
technology competitions, domestic technology exhibitions and an
international entrepreneurship summit are taking place in the festival;
Parachuting, Solo Türk, Turkish Stars and similar local-international
organizations air shows are also held. The festival is held one year in
Istanbul and one year in one of the Anatolian cities.
EVENT DATE
Istanbul 2018
The first festival took place at Istanbul Airport on 20-23 September
2018. According to IBB data, close to 550 thousand people attended
this festival. In the first year of the festival, 14 technology
competitions were held. 2000 competitors and 750 teams participated
in these competitions. In addition, in 2018, Travel Hackathon,
HackIstanbul, Take Off International Startup Summit and World
Drone Cup were organized within TEKNOFEST.

Istanbul 2019
The second festival took place on 17-22 September 2019 at Atatürk
Airport. It was announced that 17 thousand 373 teams and 50 thousand
competitors from 122 countries applied to the festival, which is
planned to be awarded more than 3 million liras. As in the previous
year, technology and drone competitions, events for students of
various levels, hacker competitions, robotics events and various air
shows took place.

Gaziantep 2020
The event was held on 24-27 September 2020 at the Middle East Fair
Center in Gaziantep. Technology Competitions, organized in 19
different categories, took part in the competition with 21 different
categories this year, unlike last year. Biotechnology Innovation
Contest, Agricultural Technologies Contest, Environment and Energy
Technologies Contest, Intelligent Transportation Contest, Educational
Technologies Contest, Helicopter Design Contest and Jet Engine
Design Contest have been added to the festival this year.

Istanbul 2021
The festival was held at Atatürk Airport between 21 - 26 September.
200,000 applications were submitted to the competition. While the
number of stakeholders increased to 74, new competition categories
were added in areas such as simulation, artificial intelligence and
unmanned aerial vehicles. Competitors from all over the world
participated. At the festival, the domestic car TOGG was shown to the
visitors for the first time.
